I didn't find any mention of a 'failed park brake' in in either story.

Any updates on this accident would be appreciated as I am not sure if mr. dodge was the operator or a laborer. Not that it matters,just curious. Thanks for the posting,as sad as it is.

I didn't find any mention of a 'failed park brake' in in either story.

If the brake was on, it wouldn't have rolled. Simple figuring.

Mr. Dodge was a laborer, he was in the trench where the unit came to rest. I did not know the man, but more than likely saw him as I drove by that operation (and swore at the flagger because I'm on a timed schedule). Of course, never focused on him particularly, but it still gave the eerie feeling.
