Thirty one years ago in a swap meet in southern California, back then, back there, drive in theatres were swap meets on weekends, I bought a box of toys.
In that box was four Thunderbird AMT store 1/25th scale store models. As it was explained to me the dealers had these models on the show room floor for the customers to handle and read key selling points printed upon the bottom of the cars.
I have two 1960's, one 1961, and one 1962. For the last fourteen years they've been a case at a friend's house. When I gave them to him for display it was because he was president of the local square birds club. I gave them to him as a loan until my son asked for them.
My son will be thirty four in a couple of weeks. He was three when I bought the toys. I'm passing them on to him.
What I'd like to have if there's any way possible is more information available on these models and their history. I've never seen any like this before or since except as assembling kits or as assembled models in stores.
