FEL Toothbar: \"NOT!\"

I normally wouldn't admit when something stupid has taken place, however you folks may get a chuckle out of my misfortune......I ordered a HD toothbar for the Mahindra 6000 that has a 78" bucket.. OK, I contacted my Mahindra dealer and told them what I had ordered and that I would like to have it shipped there and then pick it up. Well my dealer said sure, no problem (I have already had my box blade delivered there and then I picked it up with no problem). The toothbar was delivered on Thursday ( I believe). I called last evening to inquire on it's status. I was advised that they thought it was delivered, then I was asked if it was the 78" inch one. I advised that it was. There was a pause, then I was told that the owner had given my toothbar to someone else who had also ordered one (not nearly as long though). Apparently the other individual questioned the lenght of the toothbar, but my dealer was adamant that it would fit. So the other guy loaded it up and took it!! Now to shorten the story, they told me they terribly sorry and would get it back. I called at least 5 times today and got NO ANSWER from the dealership. Do I feel stupid? Well dah! I hope they get it back soon so I can go play in the dirt......Toothless in VA..... BobG

Bob,
I will cross my fingers for your sake and hope the dealer gets it back from the person they gave it to, Before that person decides to shorten it, to fit his needs.

Bob, i'm sorry to hear of your misfortune. i recently purchased a toothbar for my FEL (NH T33D). it changed my tractor from a toy to a machine. I Love It.
stay on the phone til you contact dealer - get your toothbar (man i hope that dude didn't cut it to fit his!) - install it on your tractor - go have fun!

Re: FEL Toothbar: \"NOT!\"

I got it thru Scott with "Johnsonauto" who posts on this list. They are also a Mahindra dealer. Good folks. I believe they order thru JR LONG in NC. I would recommend them. As far as cost, I got the HD model for the 78 inch bucket (weighs over 150 lbs) with pinned replaceable teeth and it cost $360 plus $80 for shipping. Additional questions:
1. Why didn't I ship it to my address or to work? Ans: Commerial addresses are easier for the trucks to get to, I live in a "residential" type set up (not where the tractor is). I can't have it shipped to where I work as I work for the Government. The shipping address location is the dealer I got the 6000 thru, so I usually find a reason to go there once or so a month anyway. And yes the phone lines will get warm tomorrow.....Still Toothless in VA BobG

Re: FEL Toothbar: \"NOT!\"

Next time around on something like this you might want to consider having the shipper call you when it arrives at their local terminal and just make arrangements to pick it up there. I've done that with a couple things with FedEx Ground with no problems at all. They're closer to my land than my office is and I don't have to worry about having equipment to unload it or worry about being around when they deliver. They'll load it on my trailer and I can offload it with my tractor at my barn when I get it there. It works great for me. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: FEL Toothbar: \"NOT!\"

Does your dealer know that the tooth bar is coming?

Re: FEL Toothbar: \"NOT!\"

I had a part shipped by FedEx last month and the tracking has it going all the way from the shipper to the depot in CT where it would be put on a truck and delivered to me. Somehow, they managed to loose it in the warehouse and haven't been able to find it since. The bad part is that the part is a body panel for a 40 year old car and can't be replaced... money is not a factor ...... there just aren't any more parts available..... I have never had good luck with FedEx, but shippers like them because they are less expensive than UPS......... UPS is better in my opinion!!!!!!!

And my experiences have been exactly the opposite. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
