Finishing mower vs rotary cutter

You might want to consider a flail mower (do a search for many previous discussions). They will stand up to more abuse than a RFM, and give a nice finish cut. Many parks and school districts use them exclusively. One great benefit over the rotary cutter is that they don't throw out rocks and junk as lethal missles. Of course, they generally do cost more than either of the other options.

Also on the flail mower it doesn't leave a windrow of clipping like the rotary cutter.
