You guys are the best. I have learned so much from your posts. Thank you.

My tractor was delivered yesterday evening. Today was my first opportunity to do something with it. I had been wanting to put in a culvert across a small ditch, and I had some discarded culvert left by the previous owner of the property. So I used the FEL to push the culvert where I wanted it. Then I used my box blade to dig up some dirt around the ditch and fill over the culvert. Took me a couple of hours to do it all.

Told my wife that my new tractor just saved her a few hundred dollars already because I didn't have to hire someone to do the work. :D

So far I like this tractor a lot. It is a very basic, but powerful little tractor. Not a lot of bells and whistles. The instrument panel is almost barren. But it is a hard worker. It is a little lighter than other tractors in the same class. But, for me, that just means it takes a few more passes to do the work.

Y'all enjoy your weekend.

Sounds like you are off on the right foot. There is nothing like putting a new tool to good use. Congratulations on your new tractor.

I got a 3038e and I have not one complaint about it. It is the best investment I have ever made.

Obviously I'm prejudiced, but I did two months of hard brand and model comparison shopping before I bought my 3032E, and I think JD hit a home run with the E Series tractors. As the man said, no bells and whistles, just exactly what's needed to do the job and nothing fancy you don't need (and therefore don't have to pay for), plenty of power, simple and easy-to-access maintenance, and a great price. For somebody with a small acreage who needs a reliable, easy to drive small general purpose tractor with FEL, they are pretty hard to beat. As a bonus, the operator's leg room is comfortable for tall folks with big feet like me, which was certainly not true of most of the others I climbed on--in fact, that was the final selling point for me in favor of JD over the others. I cannot understand why machinery design engineers in Japan can't seem to get it through their heads that there are more six-foot plus people with size 14+ boots in the USA than most other places, and simply allow a couple of extra inches of seat adjustment when they are in the drawing board stage of design. They (eventually) learned that lesson with pickup trucks, but can't seem to get their tractor guys on board.

I got my 3038 in 2010. I got the Frontier tiller with it and started my garden of about 1 acrea. It does all I ask of it. The FEL is the best tool.
Enjoy your tractor.
