Hi all,
This is my first post. I just bought a Ford 1900 last August. Seems like a sturdy workhorse (1200 hours) but one thing I've noticed is parts are hard to come by and expensive. I've so far had to replace the front tires and buy a ROPS for it. Now I'm looking for a new muffler. All the aftermarket ones I see online, as well as the one offered by the local NH dealership, don't work on my tractor because it has a loader on it and the inlet pipe of the muffler (where it does a 90 degree turn upwards) comes out too far and hits the frame of the loader. All these new mufflers have 15" inlet pipes, whereas the one currently on my tractor is only 6" long. Does anyone know where I can get a muffler with a shorter inlet pipe?
Alternatively, I could try welding the old muffler. It's totally rusted out where the inlet pipe goes into the muffler, but it might be possible.
I already bought a new muffler, not realizing it wouldn't fit, so another option would be to cut out a section of the inlet pipe of this muffler and reweld it back together. I'm kind of partial to this idea, if it would work, as I've already paid for shipping and customs fees (it was from the US) and I would have to pay more to ship it back to the seller to get a refund.
Any advice most appreciated!
