Ok this is my first post on here but I'll be documenting this with my troubleshooting for those who are new to these kinds of things (i.e. ME)

video from last night
Ford 19 Tractor - YouTube

Tractor usually starts up no problem, less occasionally having to jump it.

Volts on the battery: 12.43 (next morn at the auto shop they registered 12.35) so I'm looking at around 50% (Battery voltage and state of charge - Energy Matters)
Outside Temp: 85コ F
Last time started: 4 - 5 months

Most likely I need some more juice behind the batter to better diagnose this.

My battery cables have a hard time tightening down also so I may give that a good look too.

Might try the extra wire from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid, like this guy.
Ford F 19 starting issue | IH8MUD Forum

Thanks for the reply.

I'll test the solenoid like he did with a jumper wire.

I am betting I have a short in the wire leaving my ignition switch to the solenoid. If that isn't it, I am guessing my clutch safety switch is out... either way just running a new wire like he mentioned should solve my issue.

Well when I had that same problem on my 1700 it was a bad ignition switch. Try this as a test, sit in the seat, push in the clutch, take it out of gear, now turn the ignition to start and back off about 30 times. If you get a connection and hear the starter start to engage it will probably start at some point. If this happens your ignition switch is worn out, get a new one. Do this before you waste any time tracing down other possibilities. These switcher have 5 or 6 internal contact points and they get corroded. There is no repair, they are sealed and have to be replaced. It will cost about $80 on ebay or more at Ford.
I check everything you are thinking of checking and it was the switch. I took my old one apart and there was a bunch of corroded contacts. I posted pictures but it was about 2 years ago and they most likely are lost by now.

I watched your video. Your battery seems ok. It glows the resisitor coil well. It lights the dashboard panel lights. When you turn the key to 'Start' those lights go dim and I hear a 'Clunk' which would appear to be the solenoid on the starter motor activating.

If that's the case your key switch is OK. You can test for this:

Measure the power at the 'Phillips-head' screw on the solenoid as shown in the picture on the IH8MUD Forum referenced by Kirk in post #2.

If I'm hearing right - Your hypotheses in post #3 are both incorrect. You seem to have power trying to activate the solenoid so:
1. The existing wire is 'good'.
2. The clutch interlock switch is working.

Repair your battery connections properly to be sure they're not at fault.
Check the engine is free to rotate by manually turning the crankshaft using the fan blades.

I suspect either your Starter Motor is stuck, or the Solenoid is failing to contact internally.

Poor battery connections can cause this. The webpage you link to regarding battery voltage is for Deep Cycle batteries. You do not have a Deep Cycle battery.

Assist the battery using Jumper Leads to eliminate a weak battery after you have cleaned and repaired your poor battery connections.

Report back.
