Well I have had a leak from my fuel filter since I bought the tractor. Not much, but this week it started a steady drip. I removed the fuel filter and found that whoever had changed it never removed the gasket from the base and had double gasketed it. I removed one of the gaskets and that seemed to solve that problem, but in the process of bleeding the lines, I loosed the nut that holds the fuel inlet to the injector. Now that is dripping when I run the tractor, but appears to stop when the tractor is not running. As best I can tell, the leak is at the connection of the injector body to the inlet body. I would think there should be a gasket or o ring there, but cannot see anything. I have some pictures that I located and put arrows on them which show the location of the leak. Second picture is better.
If I try to spin the nut I can only go so far because of the inlet at the top, which was in the 12 oclock position, and although the inlet body looks like 3 individual pieces I cannot tighten the nut because the whole unit spins, even if I hold the piece containing the inlet. There also is a crushed washer (?) between the nut and the piece containing the inlet.
Anyone have a suggestion or a similar problem? I guess it is a trip to the Ford dealer tomorrow.
Pictures are not of my tractor, they are for illustrative purposes only.
