Ford 6610 Re-sleeving

Looking at purchasing a 6610 that needs #4 re-sleeved due to hole. Trying to get a quote from my buddy now who owns a machine shop. Owner says it has dual power, but not sure what else. Was wondering if anyone could decode the tag for me. Also, what would your opinion be on re-sleeving? Wants $4000. Full rebuild kit looks to be around $450. Pretty sure these are dry sleeve blocks too.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure the others aren't too far behind it. Thanks for the reinforcement. Still seems like it might be a good deal. I just wish it had the two speed PTO, but it will still make a good tractor for running a round bailer and batwing mower.

It very possibly is a good deal IF you can tear the engine down and build it back yourself. AND if you can resist half-azzing the block.

Got quote to re-sleeve all cylinders at $1000 for labor (includes cleaning and magniflux). Found some complete rebuild kits to include sleeves for $450. Figured I can get my buddy who owns the machine shop to help me with assembly.

More pics. Looks to have close to 8000 hours on it. I was actually off a little on the machining costs to re-sleeve. Should be more than $200 cheaper.

Turboed engine? Not original to the tractor. Be sure to order the correct kit. I would let the machine shop order the service sleeves. Let them and their supplier worry about getting the correct sleeves and installing them right.

I'm not seeing a turbo and pretty sure the 6610 II didn't have one. 7610 had one for sure. Good idea to have them order.
