Thought I'd share my experience yesterday. I was doing some pretty heavy front end loader work and was carrying a load of dirt when......*%$#@ SNAP, BOOM, DROP.........My left front just fell to the ground!!! Scared the dog, you know what, outta me! I thought the dang front axle broke. Turned out it was the lug bolts on the left front wheel. 3 of the bolts out of 6 I couldn't find and the others were there and stripped and ruined. I know now that I should've checked the tightness of the lugs..........guess they worked loose. So I checked this little town everywhere, read the repair manual and found they were 9/16's, 18 thread, 1 1/8" long, tapered bolts. Couldn't find them so I ordered from NH overnight. Then by accident I checked around for a 9/16" tap to cleand the threads good and found that at a auto parts house. When I got there found out she had the exact bolts I needed too.
Tapped the threads good, it worked well thank goodness and i'm back to work. Now i'm wondering about the rear so I better check them too. Found out that that spindle costs close to $300!!! The whole left front assembly was $500 and something......ouch!!!! Thought I'd pass that on to you guys to check your lug bolts!!!!
