Greetings Gentlemen,

I live on a horse farm in Colorado with a 2400 ft driveway and have to plow very large amounts of snow - sometimes even 6' drifts! Anyway, as a female, I am pretty worried about getting the right blower and one that I can handle myself. My 3720 is an open model, 4x4 without any weights. I have only had it for a few months and am just learning how to use all the attachments (brush hog, box blade, rear blade and chemical sprayer for the hay fields). I also purchased a Land Pride quick attachment unit, but am not sure that it really does the job well.

Anyway, while I have looked at both the JD and Erksin blowers, in truth, I have no idea what I am looking at, especially when it comes to the mounting system and mechanics of the blower.

While I hate to have to ask, this 'ole girl sure could use your help!

I don't know much about the John Deere, but the two stage snowblower has been around a long time and the design is pretty standard.

I guess I don't need to tell that snow removal is hard on equipment, so you want something that is well built, which I assume the John Deere is.

Also I would want a front blower as you indicated. Given the 2400 foot drive, I might want something wider than the 59" Deere blower, so maybe the Erskine might be a better choice since it comes with wider units. I would definitely want a non manual chute rotator, and a non manual chute deflector (if you have to worry about how far you throw the snow).

All I can say is that I just shiver thinking about clearing a 2400 foot driveway with six foot drifts in nasty weather conditions. I would definitely have a cab for your unit, unless you only have to snow blow a couple of times a year. I probably snowblowed 30 times last year. A heated cab makes snowblowing fun irrespective of the weather outside. Without a cab, it would just be another nasty job to complete.
