I recently acquired an OPW 11B fuel nozzle that that does not allow the fuel to go through when I squeeze the trigger.
According to the specs, the nozzle remains closed until there is pump pressure. My pump caddy develops 20 GPM which I believe should be enough to activate the valve.
The nozzle itself looks like it had a very little usage. What I would like to know if there is a possibility to fix it or bypass this pressure valve and just use it with a trigger release.

Gallons per minute is not pressure, its a measure of flow. You could get 20gpm at .01psi or 100psi, depending on the pump. You probably need to check the pressure on the pump when its running. I assume it has a pressure relief valve to prevent it breaking things when the nozle is closed, but you might want to check.

My auto-shutoff nozzle developed an issue where it also doesn't want to release the flow. I have to click the handle several times and it will finally open the valve. I don't know what caused it to do that, but I don't think it is pressure from the pump that opens it. I think it has something to do with that little internal pipe that terminates close to the end of the nozzle. If it gets liquid in it, it stops the flow. I think I may have an obstruction there (like a spider web or other object that is restricting the backflow.) I don't see any easy way of checking it or removing and cleaning it either. I do have another hose nozzle without the auto shutoff feature ready to use if the other one finally craps out.

The little hole/tube at the end of the nozle leads to a pressure sensor. When the tank fills up enough to push some some fluid into that tube/hole, it trips the pressure sensor & causes the valve to pop closed & stop filling the tank. Any obstruction of that hole or tube will stop auto-shutoff from working. I'd imagine the pressure sensor is pretty sensitive, so it wouldn't be hard to throw out of calibration or what not.

My F250 with a service body has a kink or something betwwen the filler & tank, so I have to get the nozle in the filler just right or it will trip all the time. Sometimes I just have to hold it manually.
