Took the engine to a different machine shop that works on crankshafts. He measured the crankshaft journals. He said the damaged one could not be turned since it was beyond the the specs for that. He said to replace it or have it welded and turned to size 10? (i believe he said all of the journals (main and connecting rod) would be turned to size 10. He also stated that the connecting rod was damaged beyond use. So new one of those. He suggested to get all 3 pistons upsized (20) and to bore the block to accommodate.
Unfortunately he was not able to find parts from his distributor so he couldn't quote me on that but I showed him some of the rebuild kits ive seen on ebay and the parts from Hoye.
He quoted me 200 to correct the existing crankshaft, plus another 200 to bore the engine.
i would have to purchase the parts, i see hoye has this piston and oversized at 25 or 50mm. Is the 25 the 10 oversized piston (25mm = .098 inches?)
Can i even get main and rod bearings for the new size?
Or should i just but a new crankshaft. Seems like i can find new ones for 300-500$ i would need to confirm that they fit.
He also quoted me 250$ to rebuild the head and 150$ to clean and resurface.
