Well I bought an 82 JD 400 2 months ago. I had to take apart the 3 spool valve and now I'm back to cutting - NOT :confused2:
- Center blade is cutting at a slant
1. Brass bushing was missing from the center of the blade (yes the other two have them)
2. Center spindle does not have a shouldered shaft for the blade hole to seat around (other 2 spindles have shouldered shafts)
My questions are
- Could the lack of the bushing and shoulder be enough to get the blade out of balance and cut at an angle or slant?
- Does anyone have a 60' deck on a 400 that remembers their spindles having the shoulder that I am trying to describe.
My thoughts are
- PO wanted to save 20 dollars and bought a non JD spindle
:thumbsup::thumbsup:
