Hey Folks, now that the price of diesel/gasoline is down a bunch what is the going rate per hour for excavators and dozers?? I've got about 5-6 acres and a pond to do in the next 4 or 5 months (clearing forested land that was timbered about 25 years ago). I'm in central VA. Thanks in Advance... BobG in VA

I don't know about your area ... here depending upon the size of the dozer ... $65-$110 per hour. Ponds are running $1.85 per yard.

Make sure your operator is good, low hourly rate can become expensive if he's not qualified.

I paid $100 an hour a couple of months ago, plus a $150 transport fee. I agree with Blueriver on checking the guy out.

Thanks for the replies...I was thinking about $100 an hour myself...The OP has been in the business for 30years and I've known him since he was 15...I'm pretty sure he's OK...
