Going to look at a '95 B7100 HST 4wd in the next couple days, any known or common issues I should be aware of to ask about and check out fully? It has a 60" mid mower deck and bagger. Has around 1000-1100 hours on it and has only been used for mowing. Owners asking $5300, fair price?
Thanks in advance,
Tom

Nice tractor. I know a guy at work who has one and uses the heck out of it. Check the electric PTO for backlash in the splines. Very hard to find replacement parts. I have a project to weld up a replacement shaft for our similar (I think) B5100. Not a trivial job. Spline from Crankshaft pulley to Pto Shaft is toast.

I bought a 1995 B7100 HST new and traded it back to the same dealer on a 1999 B2710 about 4 years later. Quite some time later, I saw my salesman and he told he had sold that little tractor 4 times. I was the first owner, then I think another individual bought it and later traded it back in, then a rental company bought it and traded it back in, and he had just sold it to a young lady who was getting it as a birthday gift for her husband. The salesman told me it was still in very good condition, and he expected to get it back again because we all traded it back in on a little bigger tractor with power steering. Except for the lack of power steering, and most people wanting a little heavier, more powerful tractor, the B7100 is a fine little machine. So he'd not only sold that one 4 times, but it helped him sell bigger tractors.
