Cooled of to 99˚ by 7:30 PM, Today was the hottest day of the year topping out at 106˚, it beat yesterday 105.8, tomorrow hopefully will be the last 100˚ day this year.

Got the blue room cut-in with the alabaster color paint and will be ready to cut-in the ceiling tomorrow and roll out the walls and ceiling on Friday. Could not keep up with my wife because of shoulder but determined to finish before surgery and PT shuts me down for a few months.

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 6.5C and it's presently 16.9C, fairly clear with the occasional gust of wind, otherwise calm at the moment.

Yesterday was very productive. The electrician called @ 0930; the urgent job was done. Met him 10 minutes later @ the Church. Short story is that the Rectory's new stove was installed AND he 'fixed' the old stove's door sealing problem as the 'seal' itself wasn't cracked or damaged!

Over years of use, the bottom hinges of the oven door can get out of alignment. He used the shafts of two of his screwdrivers (one on each side) to sit on the door side of the hinge and then closed the door on them a few times until the door firmly sealed again. WOW. He said that this 'old' stove/oven was still worth A$200-A$300.

The bloke then said that he would 'do' the other security (motion detecting) light job right then & there seeing as I was there to assist. Everything was completed by 1245.

After thanking him, I then proceeded into town to do my grocery shopping.

Today; all I have is a Doctor's appointment (follow-up from the blood test a week & a half ago) this arvo @ 1430.

That's about it, take care all.

We just got back, I took my '69 Rambler out for a spin. I've had it about a month and it had lots of electrical problems. Thankfully it's all stock, nothing had been messed with so dash out, and many bad connections. I removed upper steering column replacing turn signal & horn switch assembly (many hours work). Now everything works, gauges, lights, everything. I even found a factory radio...cosmetically perfect but I had to repair it. Wife said "wow! It's like a brand new car!".
Then driving around a subdivision not far away I smelled something...a burning smell......I pull over and car stops (didn't touch brakes), but it wouldn't budge. There was a house nearby and I asked if they had an adjustable wrench. They did, I let the pressure off the lines at master cylinder and all was well. I drove home carefully not touching brakes. I'll replace master cylinder tomorrow (the piston is sticking).
Then wife says "it needs a heater core also!" after a drop of antifreeze fell on her foot.
Good thing we both took auto mechanics and I have plenty of NOS parts since I collect Ramblers!

Good Evening,
Vt, rainy and cool 54 when we got in !
Turned the heat on for a few minutes!

Ken, great camel story ! 😉😀

The flooding is why I have a 4+ foot by 2 foot deep 150' long trench next to my pool. Got tired of cleaning mud and debris out of it.
Ken, my little drain worked fine nail the grass plugged up the screen ! In the future I will just leave the screen out !

Nice mower. Which engine?
Dennis, I wanted a Koehler but he didn’t have any left and I didn’t want to pay for the Kawasaki so I ended up with the Briggs, if it lasts 15 years I will be 87 ! I’m guessing I won’t be worrying about by then ! The dealer said that they haven’t had any issues with the 22hp Briggs ! So I guess we will see !

Have a good evening! 🙏

Good Evening
Today started at 50°, made it up to 71. A nice day.

Yesterday, my grandson and I got the mowing done, he insisted on blowing off the mower himself.

Masons are progressing nicely, although they scared my wife. Apparently one of them nearly took a header off the scaffold, his coworker caught him and he ended up sitting in the mortar pan.

Drywall finishers got the first coat on, they tried to reach the 14’ ceiling with stilts on top of stilts.

However, he was not impressed with the stability, and decided to use my scaffold. A bit frustrating, because I took it down at their request, said they didn’t need it, they would use stilts.

Good morning to all my TBN friends. 67 degrees on this beautiful North Alabama morning with low humidity. Highs in projected to be in the low 80's!!! Looking forward to a great day here in the Heart of Dixie. This is the day that the Lord hath made. Y'all have a blessed day.
Whereabouts in north Alabama?
I'm trying to retire to northeast Mississippi.

Cautiously optimistic
Tech was here earlier. I had warmed up tractor and knew it would stall.

He hooked her up to his ODB II diagnostic and laptop. 2 codes, not seen before. He got mainland support tech on phone. Some discussion. I don’t remember the codes.☹️

Had us draw off a fuel sample, clean, no water.

Another discussion and he had my tech bypass the fuel filter assembly by hooking tank directly into fuel pump. Started right up and ran nicely. Option was to put it to work. Dragged the rotary cutter a few laps around the area cut just a few days ago then headed off into the wild, same area it choked on last visit. No problem. Headed back to tractor shed. Could it be we found the problem? As said before, the simple thing? That filter was the first thing I changed when problem started last year. Tech is guessing a problem with the filter assembly itself, so has one on order. Fitted with an inline filter we left it in bypass. This weekend I will run it until it fails or feel we found the solution. I did let it run a couple hours after he left.

A bit comforting if this is the solution and nothing serious, but also frustrating that it was so hard to identify. Is it possible I got a bad filter to replace the old? Or is there something gone wrong in the assembly itself? Seems like so much time wasted. 🤞we found the problem.
