Drew, have you tried 1/2 teaspoon of dark maple syrup in your coffee?

BEF, that looks like the Mackinaw bridge to me. Is it?

I've got the dealers' mechanic coming today to change out the thermostat on my Kioti. I hope that solves the overheating problem and he doesn't blame it on the straight pipe. Maybe he will blame the overheating on the after market Oogah horn I installed. It could be the rear work light or the front work lights that are all LED. You know what dealers are like, if they can't find the problem they will put the blame on anything that is not stock.

weather forecast says 30mph winds in one hour
well, better get flying
I'm very impressed with how the DJI Mini 3 deals with wind.
blipped a wind warning but then kept on going up.
My stepbrother's home is up at the base of nearby mountain.
He will have to show me when he comes over this afternoon.
We are going back to his place.
Maybe tomorrow morning when lower winds we can start day with flying drone near his house. I want to see that greenhouse from above.

I have no idea what these pics are...but my usual four directions.
and definitely not very far up, big US flag not far off flapping like mad
the wind did blow the drone over about ten feet.
I go straight up and straight down, supposedly by just pushing one joystick
straight up
I'm such a chicken with this thing.
but I'm also not spying on people

if I saw a drone flying on my property, my first instinct would be to shoot a pepper ball at it. Sorry, no guns...but this thing shoots 60 feet. Clean that noxious mess off buddy when it comes back...
and like any shot projectile would be very careful of what is in the way or downwind when I likely miss.
my prize award winning poodle ate your pepper ball (really dog?) and his vet bill
was enormous. Pay pay pay.

they do have hard "practice balls" and an almost solid ball.
Bet that would hurt...
and I've never fired the thing.
Maybe I should first fire it in Texas...
the deluxe case with all the extra cartridges and three kinds
of balls to shoot.
and if you have a long rifle and a range
with good muffs that sounds like fun.
repressed Quaker that I am...
DeadEye Drew in ancient times

The Sand Dunes were very cool. You drive straight at them for over ten minutes as they get larger and larger. I turned around at the end before I had to pay 20 bucks. Since I lost my lifetime senior pass. And I'm told in Spring they move from the wind.
As I was driving up a long way out I thought that lighter areas has to be piled up against the bottom of that mountain, and yes they were. Not a huge area, but good thing it's a national park because that sand would disappear into housing in a week.

I think these drone pics are dark, wonder if I can adjust brightness
very glary and hazy
slow internet

today was fun and comfortable and drove with window down for hours in the cool morning air.

I like the sand dune pic Drew!

Water temp 83˚.

Toilet paper is flying off the shelves at the grocery store this morning and they should be out by now. Costco is out of toilet paper but they just got a shipment of bottled water in and it was going fast. The dock strike has nothing to do with the toilet paper run since most TP is produced in the United States or trucked from Mexico or Canada. But the empty shelves are real.

I ordered a scar tissue break-up tool for my shoulder at the suggestion of sister of Igor, she could not get into the grooves and cause enough pain with her boney little fingers. I may regret enabling her with the torture tool.

Good afternoon all. 59ºF for the start, clear sky. light breeze. Made coffee to start day, then off to Men's Meeting. Paid one bill, then bike ride. Stopped to visit friend, then fell during departure, scraping knee and wounding pride. Nap then catch up 1 more page, may finish tonight :)

The mechanic got here at 3:25 P.M. and was finished and I was working the tractor at 4:15. One brand new thermostat and gasket. They will email me the bill tomorrow. I probably could have done the job myself, in fact I know I could have done it myself.
He liked the straight pipe. He'd never seen anybody do that before. I told him he led a sheltered life. I have straight piped many vehicles in my short lifetime, starting with a '61 Morris Oxford.

I wonder what Phil is making now. Glad he is marketing his extras, some would be hard to part with.
Been working on vehicles and outside on leaves! Did make 6 pumpkin ornaments to bring to the store. Forgot to grab any pics! Worked on a different version of Christmas bulb too. I have an order for a lighthouse I need to make also. Might do more tomorrow, depends on the weather and the falling leaves.
Just a quick post for now. Hopefully will update better later.

Interesting appointment at VA office. Both encouraging and frustrating.
Rep was really nice and competent. As hoped she had more access than I. Frustrating in that, as I suspected, determination of my claim was made on lack of information. Absolutely no medical records in my file, NONE. No record of my VA claim from 1968. Fortunately, I have a copy of medical records starting in mid 70s. Got some work ahead.

Did get the new fan installed in the freezer, but also found some melted plastic. Sent pics to warranty people.

Lobster night ahead.

David, our veteran son went through the same frustrations with claims for old injury in South Korea and was rejected and appealed and appealed to no avail.
He finally found a specialized attorney that files the claim in the proper format and follows up until it is settled and approved. They charge a portion of the back pay from first filed so no money involved on his part. He ended up with a lump sum for payments back to first filed after the attorney took their pay and is currently receiving monthly payments.

If you want to contact them it is Jan Dils Attorneys at Law, Parkersburg WV, JanDils.com or 877..JanDils
