my morning sure changed, could not get to nephew's son's home, blocked off by fire police fighting field fires along the railroad tracks.
Just like I did 40 years ago
had to turn around and come home, boy was home alone and I wasn't having him walk down the road.
so, out to do the leaves and boy are there a lot
Again? They had a fire around the maintenance area fields of the train yesterday.
I think they need to stop the steam train for now :-(

they can run the diesel, that doesn't produce sparks
but geez county wide severe drought/red flag warnings out, and they are running the coal train?
absolutely nuts, Midway and Eagle Fire companies should send them a huge bill.
Midway fire police was upset, another field fire called in, some guy burning brush and it got away from him.
There's a burn ban folks but clearly they need to have flashing signs on the road or something.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 5:45AM. Becoming partly cloudy after some morning rain. High 62F. SSW winds shifting to WNW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90%. It's raining now, but radar sez it'll be over soon.

I guess you can always use the axe, FTW, if the lock picking kit doesn't work out.🤭

No such things as too much space under roof or too many tractor implements under it.
Now if I was half my size and had Popgadget's skills...
I'd settle for his crimping tools...🤣

I was on the road before 6 yesterday morning trying to beat the rush in Sacramento. Didn't get any breakfast, or time to post here, as a result. A couple cans of pop and trail mix got me through the day and spoiled my appetite for dinner. Smooth drive, as giving a wider berth for idiots kept me from having to slam on the brakes as often. Also fewer people on the freeway passing through the big city at 7:30AM.

The day before that I cut the largest limbs off the big felled oak and got them moved down to the brush pile. The left over log was about all the FEL wanted to lift, and the front hubs were none too happy with the load, either. Piddled around the rest of the day finding more and more stuff to cram into the van, so most of the nooks and crannies got filled, and the level was up to the tops of the front seats.

If it dries off a little outside I'll get started unloading the van, otherwise I've got some housekeeping to catch up on.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend...

I dump our leaves in a small ravine on our place using a Deere 455 and Cyclone rake. It's a dumptruck load in a 40x10x12ft (guessing) area. That's where I plant pumpkin seeds and they grow like gangbusters.

They need to charge the people that set fires during a burn ban and make the fine + the fire companys expenses big enough that people will NOT try it again. First offense $10,000.oo a non-negotiable fine + expenses and don't forget a 10% victim impact surcharge on top of that. Second offense (if they are so self entitled) $20,000.oo fine plus a year in jail.
I have been caught in a grass fire (It encircled me while I was fighting it) and as a 3 year old I was in a house fire, the converted from coal to oil furnace was poorly maintained and it exploded and blew the door off. That was the end of my sleeping in the basement.
You might say I am paranoid of fires, yet I heat my house with a woodstove.
