Good morning, the low is 28 and going to a high of 41°F. Wind NNE 2 mph. Sunny.

It looks like I will have good weather for my evaluation on the 14th.

I'll put the new sneakers on today and wear them until they make my feet sore.

Buppies, are you paving roads or parking lots?

The cats are fed, time to gobble the goobers and have breakfast.

Have a safe day all

Good morning! 53ËšF a cool front blew in yesterday evening. the temps were in the 80s before. todays high will be in the mid 70s with clear skies and a North wind.

Car shopping did not go well. Too many choices and not enough choices of what I really wanted. The sales man really wanted to finalize the deal but wanted me to come up with a price that I would buy it. They did not have a limited RAV4 that was not a hybrid. Too low of an offer on the KIA that is in the shop still. I'll wait till next week and either go to the Costco dealership on the other side of Austin or get new set of tires for the KIA and keep it.

Good morning, 40 going to 59

Walked 12000 steps yesterday, low for the week was 8000. Hard inlays in the boots are helping with the foot pains. iPhone wants to give me an award

Leveled and area with the blade on the excavator and fluffed it up so the top layer of soil could be seeded. However the winds and lack of rain made it into a small dust storm

Split some more wood for a couple of hours. Need to remember to take the battery out of the splitter and get it on the battery tender again.

Looked into how to remove the battery on the excavator and found the AC coil has to be swong out of the way to do it. And it looks like it was designed to do that by removing a couple of wing nuts

50 and sunny out this AM. Heading to lower 60's. A "cool" down from the past many days.

Serious bad news last night. Neighbor was killed by hit and run driver while checking his mail. So far this AM, no news on apprehension.

Be safe.

Often have felt unsafe doing that with the mail box being on the other side of the road and not much distance from turns in the road. And at times had to cut a box open to remove it from being jammed into the box. May be time for driving the van up to check mail. At least there is a lot of metal to crunch up if it gets hit

I tend to get real annoyed with car salesmen that want to play around pricing and then keep trying to sell on the monthly payment when I have told them the monthly payment is not a consideration the lump sum price is what I'm looking for. And then the so many of them are not even truly knowledgeable about their product.

That recipe just got me in trouble. My wife and I was watching, smelled smoke, all of a sudden she went running, screaming into the kitchen. Burned the peas she was cooking, in her favorite dish. Everything is black charcoal. House stinks. Smoke detector never went off.
I put the burnt dish out on the grill, windows open with fan running.
Did that years ago with a pot of beans. Went to church and thought I'd turned the burner all the way down, only to find out I had put it to full. On top of that, church lasted an extra 2 hours because of meetings. A 2" thick carbon insulator formed in the bottom of the pot, that kept the pot from catching fire and burning down my house.

Edit: when we got home from church, we could smell it as we pulled near the home. There was a thick layer of smoke throughout the home from the ceiling about halfway to the floor. I put the exhaust fans in the windows as I crawled around below the layer of smoke.

Don't breathe ozone! Get you an ozone device, and leave the house with it on for some hours. holding your breath or using scuba, go back into house and turn it off, open windows, let home breathe, put fans in windows to exhaust. I had to use a really small ozone device, hooked up to with a fish aquarium air pump, to inject ozone in cracks around my vent hood and cabinets to get the burn smell level to a tolerable level. Ozone will literally melt latex and other types of plastics, so be careful.

:)
34F clear sky day mid 40's for high.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Yesterday afternoon winds were 30+mph around 4pm gusty winds 40-50mph and fir trees were no match for the winds, many tree tops snap off up rooted what mess :( loss power for 7 hours 2 tree crews and 2 electric crew were busy cutting running new power lines, call the neighbor inform them since powerline and trees were on there land and least 36 trees fell on our land upper field...we meet this afternoon...and of coarse Boo had check it out while the crews were working 🙄 couple of the crew guys felt uneasy as Boo watch from distance laying down....it was long night.

Plans for today 4 hours at part store, afternoon clean up branch limbs from the wind storm.

Enjoy your day all.
Sorry about the forest damage. Keep down there while they work to keep Boo out of trouble.

50 going to 61. Feels nice outside.

Pretty glow on the horizon in the east now that dawn is here...I'll pretend it's the aurora.

Thomas, that's a terrible sounding windstorm. Glad you got your power back.

Yesterday was my mom's visitation at the funeral home. It was great talking with so many folks that knew her...I learned so much more about other parts of her life through their eyes. I had scanned about 100 photos for a slide show and picked out a nice classical music piece for the soundtrack. Everyone enjoyed seeing her from when she was a baby to more recent time...prompted even more memories and stories.
That was a really great thing to do, scanning and sharing all those pics. I went to Mikim's after funeral party, where everyone was allowed to relate stories of Mikim and it was good therapy for all IMO.
Prayers for your family's loss.

Sorry about your neighber. Were y'all close and friends? That is horrible news. Was it dark?

Me Too Lou. Put the price of the car on paper (or tell me how much off sticker), then put the price for the trade on paper, and take it from there.

Trading in clouds up the deal and is a surefire way to give them another $3-4K . They buy at wholesale and sell at retail. If you are willing to pay that price, it keeps you from having to sell the car yourself.

Often, the first thing they ask you is if you're considering trading in. This clouds the deal, they will often not discount the new vehicle as much, while on the other hand seaming to offer you more for the trade. Everyone wants to think their trade in is worth more. Sell it yourself by word of mouth, or be very careful of facebook marketplace. You will have people with hard to pronounce names offer to buy but lots of lowballers. I look at their FB page to analyze their legitimacy before I reply.

I use a small ozone machine in my basement every year.
works wonderfully to keep basement odor free
but I set it for ten minutes with a floor fan running, shut the door to the basement. and leave
for two hours.
