Good Morning!!!! 64F back in Orcutt. Partly cloudy skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. High 68F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Hopelessly behind in the posts; hope you all had a wonderful T-Day!

We explored the section of CA1 south of the landslides that currently have the way north blocked. The idea was to ride our ebikes on T-Day where the blockage would discourage other traffic. But with no shoulder, short sight lines, and more traffic than we anticipated, we kept the bikes in the van and just visited a couple of beach spots, including a pretty campsite right on the water.

Today Home Depot delivered a new washer and dryer, but the dryer was badly dented and had to be sent back. The crew knew it was dented before they put it on the truck. Now I get to wait for another dryer and screw around with waiting for another delivery. Not gonna do that again.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

24°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 33° (where it is now), then down into the teens overnight. Brrr.

Thanksgiving dinner was fantastic as usual. We had the standard fare. Samuel and his girlfriend joined us.

Samuel has been working with some physical therapists and a prosthetic maker. He got his first fitting last week, and took his first steps on it using the hand rails (pictured). They did some tweaking on it, and he had his first keeper fitted this past Wednesday. He decided that his first steps would be without the hand rails, so he walked down, turned around, and walked back without the rails. Impressive. He wanted a working leg by Thanksgiving, and he got one. Quite proud of the work he's putting in, both physical and mental.

Got the power run to the hen house and water heater Friday. Chickens don't seem to hate that. They've started laying more.

1-3" of snow was predicted today to start around noon-ish. It started about 08:00 with just light flurries. Been only moderate at best since about 10:00. We have maybe 1 inch so far. Judging by the radar, we'll probably get 2-ish before it's done.

Good afternoon, gents.

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 16.3C and it's presently 20.9C, clear & calm. There was 124.3mm (that's not a 'typo') in the gauge @ 0700.

Yep, the BoM underestimated the predicted maximum rainfall of 80mm. The Shire council was even offering sandbags yesterday! Things are drying out today... and today is the first 'official' day of Summer down here.

As per usual, I'm off to Church in a while (a Baptism & Communion) and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.

Wagtail's 69 degrees sure sounds nice.
I worked outside for about an hour cleaning out the veggie garden and trimming the blackberry bushes.
despite the sun got pretty chilly and I came in to warm up.
going to look for a movie to watch on Saturday night

have paperwork on the desk and procrastinating getting to it.
plus I have a parking ticket to pay, not due until Jan 12 and I pay it online.
so no rush on that either.

so far the giant snowman outside hasn't moved in the wind.
my neighbor across the street likes the fact snowman is waving to her

little radiator electric heater near my desk keeps me cozy in this small room but living room is down to 65, poorly insulated, lots of
windows and furthest from the heater. When I'm in there I just turn the electric wood stove on in there.
but otherwise have no need to keep that room warm.
best thing I have to keep warm is my electric mattress pad.
Only need to go to lowest setting to make bed nice and warm.

hope you all have a good evening.

Morning/evening all;
Still feeling heavy and full from the Thanksgiving feast this year, had two of my kids and there better halfs and a grand daughter and one of my wifes grand daughters for dinner. Great meal and company. The weather made for a bit of work, had to ferry everyone up and down the driveway because of the 5-8 inches of heavy wet snow Thanksgiving day.
Did go out yesterday with the little Kioti and skim some of the snow off, then put the rear chains on the Branson this afternoon and then york rakes much of the ice off the driveway. Now just sitting here and contemplating which leftovers to have for supper.
Glad that most had a good Thanksgiving.

everyone stay safe and well.

Good Evening,
Lou I hear you on the feeling after thanksgiving dinner ! I’m guessing I picked up a couple of pounds Thursday afternoon /evening! My youngest son rotisseries 2 turkeys over charcoal ! They came out excellent!

Today I said I wasn’t going to work out in the wood shop, but by 9 am I was out there starting the wood stove! Got some more work done on the rocker arms ! I worked out there until 2 or so and then walked up the road to visit my good friend and neighbor Dave and Mary !

Tomorrow morning I told Kathleen I would help her with her Christmas cards ! Every year she does 4 water colors of places we have been on vacation ! Then she takes the paintings to Staples and has the print them off on card stock ! The cards need to be folded and then we add an ornament to each bag of cards ! So I will get started on that tomorrow morning !

Looks like a cold night ahead !

Hope all enjoyed their Saturday! 🙏

Drinking hot cup of coffee. 21° with light snow this morning. Heading to 29° with off and on light snow. Sassy got her grooming. Looks like she lost 2 pounds. Installed a couple of racks in pole barn to store battery drill tools. Amazon had some good deals on the racks last week. Not much else got done yesterday. Going to put Christmas Tree and few other ornaments up today.
