Good morning all. 67F going to 81F sunny now, rain in forecast this afternoon. The forecast has rain for the next week, so will be dodging rain drops. Two windows to go on the blinds, and will finish the master bedroom this week. Getting close to leaving for bike across Kansas, was able to maintain 17 mph for an 1 1/2 hr at a 134 heart rate.

Well, 72° here in northeast Mississippi too this morning when I finally stirred. Me old fibromyalgia seems to tell the difference in the barometer. Looks like some of the TEXAS (ye MUST write and say TEXAS in all caps) rain is headed our way. Stay safe boys.

So David, you use solar power for your home and when that drops out, you switch over to the generator?? What is the time it takes to switch over and do you have a lot of blinking clocks you have to reset regularly??

Could do that, but don't.
Primary function of the Genset is to charge my batteries when lack of adequate sun.
Genet is hooked into my Outback inverter/chargers via a Mate3. Mate is programmed to Autostart the Genset upon certain conditions that I predetermine:
If the batteries fall to 65% State of Charge,
If the battery voltage drops to a certain level for 24 hours or 2 hours, it starts unless quiet time ( I choose 9pm-7am)
If battery voltage drops to a certain level for 2 minutes, it starts regardless of time.
Can also cause a start based on load, which I may do next rainy season now that we have the spa and the spa operates on a timer.
I can set predetermined exercise periods. I run 15 minutes every Sunday at 9am.
Mate then stops then Genset when conditions are met, such as back to 90% SOC or time limits.

During periods the generator is running I often choose to run our 240 volt pool pumps.
I also run the Genset if I use my welder regardless of sun or if running other high draw power and sun is lacking.

Mostly we reset clocks and microwave that are sensitive to our frequency, some don't really like non utility power, others don't seem to care.

Good day here, my wife had her 6 month clearance mamagram today, all clear, so that is very good. I didn't get much done today, did lunch with my retiree group, then off to the gym. My folks called, they need help in Florida, so I will be going there in a few days. I got my tuneup kit for my Farmall H, I might go work on that this evening.

Have a good one!

300- congrats on the clear checkup! That has to be a good feeling and a huge relief.

49*F & rain currently. That was pretty much the story all day, around 50 and rain. Today's high of 58 occurred at 5 mins. past midnight. Not tomato growing weather. :(

I did buy a chainsaw today, a 16" Husky 440. The Echo looked good too and the shop owner said they are pretty much an even quality choice in that type of home owner light use saw. I noticed the Echo came with a narrow tooth, no-kickback sawchain which I think doesn't open up enough kerf width when cutting stuff over 6-8 inches in diameter. He recommends premium fuel and a 50:1 brand name mix oil like Stihl, Echo or Husky.

That's great news, 300. This summer will be 8 years since wife was first diagnosed and I still revel her getting her lad test clean report.

That's a pretty cool way of doing it, so mostly you have uninterrupted power.
