Good morning! 79˚ heading to 101˚. The 10 day forecast now shows a cold front will be here in 10 days to drop the temperature to a chilling 97˚!:cool2:

We are transforming the cow pasture :cow: down the road into a 5 star outside (tent) restaurant where 1,200 people from central Tx will converge.

Our VFD menu: Fried Catfish, Potato Salad, Hushpuppies, Beans, (tea included). You fill your own plate so everyone goes away full.

This has always been the communities last event of summer before school starts. That's the only reason I can figure why the event is on one of the hottest weekends of the year. It's an evening meal and we will have a bunch of large cooling fans to make it feel like Fall. Adding the music and beer and two acres of lights the ambiance feels festive.

Morning all, 68F when I woke up, predicted high of 79F. Last day of work until vacation, yipee. A well deserved vacation if I do say so myself. May be off the web after Friday for a couple of weeks, will see, depending on internet service in Europe.

70 degrees and partly cloudy ... big thunderstorms with torrential downpours last night.

Was a short night last night as far as getting anything done up in the shed. I got hungry and came down around 02:00 after the first round of showers to get something to eat ... fell asleep on the couch after that ... but not before I heeded the wife's instructions.

Apparently, before going to bed, she had called while I was up at the shed and left a voice mail, to deliver this critical bit of advice:

"You need to eat that last piece of blueberry pie ... otherwise I will ..."

Yes ma'am ... I have complied ... :D

I woke up during the night several times ... wasn't completely comfortable ... seemed like something was irritating my left hip which was the side I was laying on ...

After I woke up for the final time a bit ago I discovered it was my iPhone which I forgot to take out my pocket.

Well, yeah ... that could do it.

I did manage to get a few things done ... in addition to just general cleaning: power supply wire for the compressor/welder strapped up and tied down, rust brushed off several hand tools with the bench grinder, cut up a piece (angle/pipe) off an old Trac Vac that we no longer have with the Sawzall to use for the drop-down caster mechanism on the small welding table, deburred the mounting plates for the casters, installed the new hold-down clamp for the swivel on the bandsaw, and stuffed those leaky black pipe unions on the air lines with some Permatex No. 1 ...

Nephew called the other day ... he needs his Ramset back sometime in the next week or so ... so I need to figure out what else I need to use it for before I return it ... putting up a mounting board for the fence controller is one thing for sure ...

I'm getting down to the point where the number of tasks left to complete is getting limited ... but there's one big one I have been dreading and putting off: cleaning all the oily/greasy stuff off in the parts washer ... there's a big pile of that crap ... several in fact ... enough that it will probably take the better part of a day.

70F and .01 inches rain last 24 hours.

Pool fence refurb underway. Boy some of the rusted bolts and screws were a challenge. All the old and rusted out removed, posts wire brushed and holes epoxied. Today should get them sanded, primed, and painted. Couldn't yesterday as I spent too much time on removal and the epoxy takes hours before I can sand it. Funny how you get used to something being in place, now looks almost naked with it gone LOL New fence will be located a bit differently creating yet another visual.

Be safe
Have a great day

home inspection went well. I caught the inspector after the buyers have left and he said he rarely sees a house in such nice shape. Nice to hear.
And the buyer left a nice note of thanks.
So that seemed positive. Buyer left his phone number and wants me to call him, a no no before acceptance.

better news is that my chest xray came back fine. Good. Now to figure out what's going on with my thyroid. I looked up the side affects of thyroid disorders and besides feeling tired, it effects muscle cramping and irritability. Hmmm. I'm up almost every night having to walk off leg cramps. Of course I'm on my feet 14 hours a day now; that will change, at some point... Bananas, vitamins, taking the right stuff, but something is missing.

David/Sodamo: I would think galvanized or aluminum would be the way to go. I have plastic coated horse fencing at my new home, no maintenance there.
Maintaining steel near salt water is quite a challenge; lots of prep work/priming. But if it's what you've got...I bet those bolts rust up in another five years.
How long did these last?

Drew ...be sure an check any meds you are now taking ...some of them can adversely affect your thyroid - that happened to me once ...and within a month or so after discontinuing the med...I was fine....

Good Afternoon. 1430, scattered clouds, 94F {113 heat index} with 61% humidity. Forecast high of 95F with 50% chance of thunderstorms, and a low of 75F tonight. I have been hearing distant thunder for about an hour. It came a light shower when I was cutting Mamma's okra, but didn't stick around.

I got the new belt on the Woods RM400 and mowed a little up by the house. I bought a belt at the Kabota place and paid $73 for it. I stopped by Lowe's and looked at their belts. They had two that were an inch too long, but they were marked $27, so I figured I could take a chance. The belt is about 5', so an inch isn't going to make much difference. I bought both the belts, and got an additional discount from the Pro Desk, so the two of them cost $42. I put on one of the belts from Lowe's and it works. I thought about taking the high dollar one back, but I guess I'll keep it. The grass was so deep I had to go in 3rd gear low range part of the time. My little B1750 was showing it's age. The B7500 has more power, but I don't like the lift on it. I may have to bite the bullet and change it over anyway. It was mighty slow going.

I have already cooked a pot of peas for supper. Now I'm waiting for the pork chops to thaw. I might just turn on the TV and see if I can nap for a little while while I'm deciding how to cook them.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

I drive past a white plastic horse fence everyday when I go to work. It has to be scrubbed down at least once a year. It will turn a nice green color if left on it's own.
