28F clear sky upper 40's for high,gusty winds showing signs slowing...some areas not leaf on the ground...some areas piles and piles of leaves.
Good to see day light before 6am,not so good dark before 5:15pm.

Temp has already climbed 5F degrees since I woke up around 02:00 ... wind is out of the SSW ...

Still dark here ... guess I'll run down to the gas station and grab some gas and diesel while I wait for it to get light out.

I think that in addition to the leaf clean up I'm going to drop a few trees around the polebarn today.

Wow! You sure got up early. Doesn't that screw up you're internal clock? I worked off shifts for years, I never seemed to sleep good. Retired, I enjoy regular hours and good sleep. I do have some mild sleeping pills to help, if I need them.

I avoid things like working with chainsaws, if I haven't slept good. I don't trust my judgement, i don't want to make even small mistakes on jobs like that.

I'm not sure if I actually have an internal clock ... lol ...

My sleep "schedule" is pretty irregular ... basically, I usually go to sleep when I'm tired and sleep until I'm rested.

When I'm "in service" I'm on call 24/7 ... normally most loads pick up in the afternoon and deliver "straight-thru" ... which often means driving overnight (and sometimes then some)

No telling when ya might get the call tho' ...

Makes sense to me. I have a nice little scar just above my left knee that proves the wisdom of your words.

I usually sleep like a rock ... dead to the world ... the only question is: for how long ?

Could be as little as 4 to 6 hours ... or as long as 12 if I'm really tired.

I'm feeling pretty fresh right now ... so I'll probably do the tree dropping first thing and skid those out ... and then move onto leaf clean up and other stuff.

Good morning, 41F heading to 52F this afternoon. Finally got around to changing the furnace filter and clean the fresh air exchange filter, doesn't look like the old owner had done this in a while. Should made the furnace run more efficently now.

37 this morning and headed to 66 today. No rain till Wednesday and after birds get here today maybe I can get back to my wanna to do list. Instead of the hafta to do list. We'll see.
Had the killing frost yesterday everything already wilting so that should mean one more mowing then put mower up till April hopefully.

What sort of bird growing do you do? I somehow missed that.

It hung around freezing all night. The wind has settled down to a good breeze from yesterday's howling. The clouds are moving out too.

This evening is the regular VFD maintenance meeting. Tomorrow I have warden duty at the polling place 0730 to 1400, then back at 2000 for ballot counting. Should have a reasonable turnout with the governor's and US Congress races and a bear hunting referendum to no longer allow baiting, trapping and hounding.

I raise broiler chickens. As well as beef cattle and forages.
