Dave1949.
"Yesterday was a wet one, rained for most of the day, then sleet and snow. We've had a lot of precipitation in the last couple weeks. The streams are running like it's springtime."

I'll second that, more wet coming next week weatherman saying.
Took walk about thru the woods yesterday afternoon, uncovering snow from the ground number places ground thaw some places mucky, than it dawn on me why both logging operations are only cutting no hauling of any sort.

Same here Thomas. The exposed driveway is mostly frozen, but very soft wet ground under the snow right next to it. My pond has overflow, water running in the usual drainages. I didn't think about the logging, but I bet they are having trouble. The winter harvest window is missing a couple weeks this year.

Good morning! 50˚ heading to 66˚ foggy. Fixed parents leaking faucet yesterday and got them info on 3 propane water heaters to choose from in Bastrop. Of course they will check to see if he can find a "deal" locally. Their place is turning into a weekly maintenance job, but it's a good visit each time that I cherish. I had to chuckle a bit when I told my Dad the installation fee charged by Sears was $260. He said that he would install it himself (ha ha) which meant I will install it.

Good Morning. 0830, sunny, 44F with 93% humidity. Forecast high of 67F with 0% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 42F tonight. Christmas Day is forecast to be about like today, just 3 or 4 degrees cooler, with warmer weather and thunderstorms a couple days before and a couple days after.

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes. We had a good day.

Today is Thursday, so I have to pick up and put down heavy things for the next 80 minutes. I have another Christmas party at work tonight. It will be nonstop right up until Monday night, then I'll have a couple of weeks of down time.

Hope everyone has a good day,

Larro

32 early here in GA, then went down to 31, not up to about 42, supposed to be another good day! Me Mehicanos are here working on me carport soffit, other boys working on wife's screen porch off her office we had build last year, so it's bang bang bang bang, eyeballs and elbows at me place this morning. One of the Mehicans father who is two years younger than me is about to pass away in Mehico. His brother went to be with him, but this one couldn't go. I told him I would pray for the family. He understood. It's always something in life, isn't it? Let's hang in boys, we're gonna make it.

30F. What a blah, gloomy day it was. Scooped some surface slush and snow off the driveway today and walked the dogs a bit. That about covers my productive activity for today.

I'm about half way through The Interrupted Forest, A History of Maine's Wildlands by Neil Rolde. Interesting book focusing on Maine beginning with the earliest European contact, lots of colonial era happenings leading up to the Revolution.

Maine and the Canadian Maritimes were the frontier for many of the battles for control between the English (who switched several times in that era between Protestant and Catholic dominance) and French (Catholic) of course, but also between the English Royalists and Puritan/Pilgrim English.

Someday I need to read a good history of the Acadians; the French who were marooned and dispossessed in what came to be English controlled territory within Maine and the Canadian Maritimes.

Sunshine forecast for Friday-Monday.

RSWYAN is still MIA? Hope he is well and not busy welding the furnace repair man into his truck sarcophagus.

Good to see you back Mostly_Gas. Got the PM, thanks.

34 degrees damp and raw now. Had busy day my wife was away for a few days of R&R and I picked her up this morning. On the way home stopped to see my 2 month old grandson along with my son and daughter in law. After getting home needed to take my mom to a doctors appointment, daughter to get fingerprints for new job then grocery store. Now sitting here with my coffee. Long day.
