My money's on the bride-to-be:rotfl:

 Ya know Bill, $1000 divided by 10 years of wedded bliss is only $100 per year. Where will you find someone to put up with you at those prices?

3F and 2-3" of snow down today. Spent most of the day at 4F, touched 5F briefly.

Boring winter day.

Margie and I went for another walk. It was 72F when we started, but had dropped to 68F by the time we got back. Still turned out to be a very nice day.

I got some pictures of the pinestraw baler in action. And the stray roster has made some new friends.

I wish I had some of your sand for planting potatoes. I keep planting, using various methods, and still not much if any success.

Onions are in. Bought some strawberry root sets. Quinone and Allstar I think? Trying to get the kiddos interested in it more.

Don, are you using fireplace ashes on your spuds? I don't think mine have any eyes sprigging out yet.
We use raised beds filled with compost and potting soil from the nursery. Potatoes do very well in it. Clay soil becomes a non-issue.

With the north east clay and rock soil I have a friend who would dig his rows put his spuds in then cover with just enough dirt to cover the potato then cover row with a mound of hay or straw. This worked very well for him.

Took a couple days off. I am in Florida for a couple of days, spending some time with my mother. Things are well, my folks are in their 80's, and my dad is off with some friends. I missed the warmup in Michigan, but the weather down here is great, it is well into the 70's during the day.

Have a good one!!

What do they use that straw for?

What do they use that straw for?

Ground cover in flowerbeds and landscaping. It's a big business here in the Southeast. But then we have millions of acres of planted pines.

About 15 degrees right now...high of 20 today and another 1-3 inches of snow. We didn't get as much as originally predicted, but we got enough...

50 degrees going up to a remarkable 68 here, then the rains come tonight.
Has this been three wet Mondays in a row? Or snow for you guys further North....

I hope the last contractor comes today and puts on the rear barn door. He's been rained out several times now. Just odd jobs today, continuing to clean out the garage so I actually might get my car in there.
