Good morning! 29˚ frost, sunny heading to the 50s. There was no snow here but lots of places north of us did have snow.

I have a new Acurite weather station - I love it my, wife hates it. I have the color monitor and it does not turn off so at night it looks like a TV is left on. Also the internet bridge has flashy blue lights and the study looks like an ambulance is parked inside.

I'll just order a mono screen display (or put it in a fake book from Hobby Lobby) and put tape on the blue lights. - problem solved.

My Dad's "fixed" water leak, that I fixed 2 weeks ago, broke at a PVC male threaded connection ?????? giving me a project yesterday evening. I rushed the job to finish by dark and will have to go back out today to replace one coupling that has a small drip leak because I rushed the drying time in the cold temperature.

Yes jd. You need oak trees and logs to make oak lumber. But you could also make lumber out of what ever species of logs you have.

Ever seen logs made out of black walnut? That's about all I have that is large enough.

We used to cut a lot of pine lumber, but did a fair amount of oak and red cedar. When I was young we took the logs to the sawmill, but the old fellow who ran it got too old, so after that we hired a band sawmill to come in and do it. My cousin has one, and I have cut a little using his. I've been thinking about picking one up myself, if I find one at my price.

I WISH !!! Our 11 acres are the remanants of what was the only working dairy farm in my township, all the land (170 acres back then) was pretty much cleared back in the early part of 1900-1920 to make it farmland. The owners got out of the dairy business back in the 50's after a fire destroyed the house and one barn and then gradually sold off the property little by little.
