Good morning!!!!

Good Morning. 0750, partly cloudy, 76F with 96% humidity. Forecast high of 88F with 40% chance of rain today, and a low of 77F tonight.

A slightly cooler day today. Will come in handy if I wind up using the chainsaw later. Sister called Saturday to tell me a big oak is across the road to the creek camp. I took gas can to work to pick up some non-ethanol gas, but couldn't get away from work in time to catch the station open. I have some year old gas mixed, but hate to burn it. I want to be done with the tree removal today though. Tuesday and Wednesday are good planting days, and I want to spend them in the garden. Speaking of garden, we got a hard thunderstorm yesterday. I will go out and kick the top layer of dirt and see if I can skip a day watering.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

77 this morning and headed to 91 today. Bound to be a big improvement over yesterday. My backyard weather station registered 100 with a heat index of 124. I hope that was while I was at the doctor and not the reason I soaked a short in less than half an hour just watching another guy weld. Rain less than 10 miles from me last night on two sides but not a drop here.

A friend of mine bent the box blade I helped him build last year. Hit it with the loader on tractor trying to mow around it. So he brought it back and we pulled it back straight. Then he welded some more bracing into it. If he bends it now it will mean new side panels or a new blade. It only weights 500+ currently.

Today is salt spreading day. Well after I go get the other half of my salt. Get ready for litter hope it's coming tomorrow.

Drew glad hands doing better.

Kyle happy birthday.

once again you are making too much noise getting up Roy and here I am too...;)
actually all the meds had me asleep pretty early last night so no wonder I'm up early.

And yes, thank you, my puffy hand is now less puffy, thankfully. I think another day and I might see my knuckles again.
Calling first thing this a.m. to make an appt with my pcp to get an epi pen. Also told the other two siblings who don't have allergies that now two of our three brothers have a bad bee reaction, so for them to be careful too. Number of issues, bad backs, hay fever, clearly passed on through our family. So this might be one more. Both times in the last week when stung I have felt the sting long before I saw the bee so not much I can do. If they bite/sting first and ask questions later, well...

The family doctor who delivered me and my siblings a long time ago died from just two bee stings, and after immediately being given an epi pen injection. The good doctor played bridge with my parents for decades. Real shock to our family and sure brought the danger of bees home to us.

another hot day today, heat index up to 107. I got several of the magnetic strips installed yesterday in the barn woodshop but it was up to almost 80 in there, and I was feeling woozy from the pills, so after putting up the second one, i decided to come back when it was cooler this morning. Not sure that old a/c unit in there is going to cut it. I think it's an 8k unit and I probably need a 10-12k one. It runs pretty constantly but at least that keeps the humidity down.

have a great start to your week.

I was allergic when I was young, one sting and I would blow up like a balloon. Somehow, I lost the allergy as I got older. I even kept bees for a couple of years. I have heard of folks going the other way, developing allergies as they get older.

72F @ 7:00AM. Abundant sunshine. High 99F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Drew, I think the tendency is to get more sensitive as the number of stings increase. You did the right thing by seeking medical help, and now you know where to find your local emergency room ;)

Belated Happy Birthday, Kyle. Hope you got yourself that bike you wanted!

Got the brakes back on the forsale bike yesterday, and gave it another dose of hot water to clean off the top of the engine. Nice to turn the corner and be putting stuff back together.

Back in town again yesterday to exchange the routers I was working with. One didn't come back from a firmware flash, so I repeated the procedure on the other one trying to figure out what happened. Yep, bricked that one, too, so now I have a new pair. The Geek at BestBuy was absolutely no help, but didn't even bat an eye at the exchange. Clearly a case for patronizing a bricks'n'morter storefront.

Hope everyone is off to a good start for the new week!

89 on the way to "98". We've been popping 100 for over a week, even though the official temp reading never seems to get there. Must be located near the ice plant. Going to put some groves in the asphalt with my bike tires. Should be fun. Water bottles in the freezer getting nice and cold.

67°F and .o5 inches rain last 24 hours, light morning shower as I type.

Off to the airport to get grand niece on plane. She meets her Dad in Seattle for a cross country drive back home to NJ. Think she had a great experience.
Our granddaughter is here for rest of the summer.

Be safe
Have a great day

We got through the thunderstorms easy last night...a bit of rumbling and a bit of rain was it.
Not so easy down is Ascutney (VT) and east central NH. 3" of rain in an hour...lots of power outages, trees down and roads washed out. The trees down aspect struck a bit close to home...one of my co-workers (3rd shift guy...knew him to say hello to) was killed when a tree cam down on his car...killed him dead.

that's sad Roy. One of the things that attracted me to my home was there were no large trees within falling distance
of the house. But it's like driving under the underpass when the concrete lets loose, just plain bad luck.

lot of excitement here, power went off, internet conked out, so time to drive out the lane and mail the bills and holey moley that's a lot of flashing red lights out there. three houses down an Suv went off the road, likely hit a pole, and someone was badly hurt or worse as they called in the helicopter. Which landed on my next door neighbor's front lawn, guess he's glad he just mowed it. tow trucks, electric trucks, cable trucks all jockeying for position outside my driveway; good thing the turtles were moved well back. Heat index of 106 out there too. I saw a constant supply of water bottles being sent around the firemen.

All cleaned out and plenty of water shooting out now.
