Yes they are gunieas. Best watch dog you can have on property. They are very noisy when something comes along. Yes they are very good eating my Mom used to cook them in a Red Wine sauce.

finally got some pics posted. Worked hard today on doing firewood, need to clean that area out so I can get the pad poured there behind the barn.
Lot of red oak split, some of the rounds were silly big and I had to use the front end loader. More trouble than they are worth but I hate to throw out red oak.

ok, so what birds were parading around in my back yard? Looking pretty edible...

So much for taking it easy Drew. :)

The others have it right about the birds. They also make great watch dogs. They'll make a lot of noise if something is out of the ordinary.

Ron, going through your mother's things is tough. Hopefully some of those things will bring back good memories.

I hate to say it, but if the lot of us had to board up at a mens' retreat, the cammode would get used more during the middle of the night than at any other times. Mea Culpa.

Good evening all. 71F this morning, sunny and calm. 95F for high, low humidity, erratic breeze from ESE. Checked batteries in golf cart, only about 1/2 gal. low for all 6 batteries now topped off. Did a little organizing but concentrated on getting painting done on the walls. Tomorrow is hot day of the week, may just go water ski and drown my sorrows :)

No way I'd ever get any gunieas in wine sauce. My wife would give them all names, research the best food for them, and have a coop for them.... I'd like a couple, but I don't want more dependents!!

 I just ordered vinyl lettering sign to put on the back of the new horse trailer... "Caution... hauling horses, cows, goats or any other 4 legged creature my wife bought today"

cooler day today, mid sixties out now, high of mid 80's, have about four hours of mowing to do today, nice day to do it in.
Mostly, I'll drive if you can do some acrobatic skiing. Sure will get some pics of that...

I'm not a hunter but my neighbor sure is. And I have a box of leftover/wrong gauge (dumb) bird shot shells he could use too. It shows you how well I know my
shotgun when years ago I bought the wrong gauge shells for it...not like it gets used. Now I have the right shells, bird shot. Odd the sporting goods store downtown did not have any "home protection" loads. Would think that would be popular, but I guess not. And in the mood...when I went into the local Walmart for the first time, I went past their gun section and just for jollies asked if they had an .22 ammo. Oh no, we never have that, goes out as soon as it comes in.
Is ammo shortage STILL an issue? How much ammo is stockpiled out there? We must be sure ready for an alien invasion...this has been going on for years.
You would think the Chinese would have flooded this country with cheap ammo by now.

was planning on driving down to Charleston on Monday to look at a boat but I don't think so now, not with that storm passing right through there. Will wait until later in the week. Will stay at Isle of Palms, a marina resort just North of Charleston where apparently the boat is. Hope to take an extra day off and just sit on a beach. Something I'm a little overdue on. Right Farmer? you're a little overdue for the beach too, right? ;)

Good morning. You are all so lucky to have gunieas running around free. We don't have any wild ones in this country - perhaps because they taste so good.

Pipelines - we have 2 old water pipelines, running about a mile under our land. They are long since disused, but I don't imagine anyone will ever come and take them out.

Wngsprd , hope coco and your son's new puppy got on well together.

Key, thanks, now knowing hickory is such a tough wood, I don't feel so bad at using my hammer handle to poke concrete and all the other abuses it has put up with over the years. Hope you heal quickly after your wife sees the sign. :)

Coffee is done brewing. 46° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 76° with partly sunny skies. Time to removed cover from motorhome. Start getting it reading for a Labor Day weekend trip.
Kyle, not much in the house, Cleaned and painted inside over a year ago. Needed to put curtains and stuff back up. Sad to see for sale sign on it. Mother lived there over 50 years.
KevT, we need picture of sign with wife's smiling face. :D
Good Morning All.

57 heading to 85...still low humidity. But with no rain, plants and grass are drying out badly.

Eric, the dogs are getting along swell. Puppies are so much fun.

Kev, your wife sounds like a true animal lover. Great sign for the trailer.
