Good morning!!!!

My wish for some rain has come good over this last week, in fact I may have wished a little too hard. The sun has been quite elusive for a few days now, with the temperature in the house dropping to the point that last night had me firing up the woodburner for the first time in a long while.

David - After a full summer, I'm sure you will really miss your granddaughter, but be more than ready for that well earned rest. You deserve a few drywall free days.

Good morning!!!!! 76 now 92 this afternoon, gonna feel like 102 having 67% humidity.

Anyone have big plans on this 3 day weekend? My customer for today canceled late last night, so looks like I have 4 days to get stuff done around here. I have the other 4 acre back pasture to clean up and get disc'ed up. Let's see, it took me 6 hours to do 2 acres on Wed... I have a cross fence to put in on the side and replace the T-posts dividing the back pastures which means about 80 post holes and 2 gates. Move the goats to the garden area to clean it up and get it ready for a fall garden. Move the horses to the front till the farrier comes. Repair the old spreader so I can use it for fertilizer next week.

Took soil samples to the fertilizer store yesterday and they just got their winter rye seed in at $23 a 50 so picked up 7 bags of that. They seem to run out quickly, so grabbed it while they had it even though won't put it down for a month. Swear I paid twice that last year. The Bahia is still up there at $90 a 50 but I still have 6 bags of that.

Yesterday I helped my wife pick 60# of pears so I know what she will be doing this weekend... how many jars of pear jam can one eat??? What else do you do with pears?

KevT you can make pear pie exactly like apple pie with the crumb topping.

Good morning, 73˚ heading to 93˚. A relief to wake up without the need for pain meds. The combo of 500mg Tylenol and 400mg Iburophen worked better than the prescription - FYI.

Poured second cup of coffee. 65° with cloudy skies. Heading to 74° with thunderstorms in afternoon. Made the trip to northern MI without problems until we arrived at our destination. Rains on Wednesday have washed out many of the dirt roads. Couple of detours we made it to our parking place. But ground was soft. With help of friends little Yanmar. Got motorhome pulled into place. Not sure how we will get out. But we are here.
Today we get to clean up the ruts made by motor home and tractor.

Good Morning! 60F @ 4:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 81F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Congrats on your anniversary, Mostly!

Don, I always ask a new dentist if they have a pool in their back yard. If they say no, I think twice about going with them, because they'll be using my mouth to pay for one. I'm only half joking. For a few years I had a dentist that always found a cavity during the checkup. Then one year he said he found one between my last two molars, and would have to drill both of them to get to it. That was the last straw. The next dentist saw nothing in the x-ray, and here we are 20 years later and that tooth is still just fine. Anyway, glad you're feeling better!

I agree, sixdogs. I miss Dave1949's insights and wry humor...

Kev, sounds like you're tryin' to keep up with RS! Now it's you making the rest of us look bad!

Kyle, I tried the buddy thing. One beer led to another and now his wife won't let him come back. :drink::laughing:

Got the winch mounted and gave it a try yesterday. Worked well, but I found it very difficult to maneuver the back wheel between the jaws of the wheel vise. Ended up marking a lane out with masking tape to use as a guide, and got it first time. Sure a lot easier than waiting around for a buddy that ends up drinkin' all your beer!

Today I'll take it back apart, smooth up the welds a bit, and give it a nice coat of paint. While I'm at it I'll fill in the space between the masking tape to make the guide lines permanent. I also need to make up some sort of clamp for the remote control on the winch so I can keep both hands on the handlebars and just punch the buttons with my thumb. Nothing worse than having to bend over to pick up the darn thing when you're trying to hold up 500 lbs of motorcycle.

TGIF gang!

64 this morning and headed to 97 today. I'll be glad when this heat wave is over. Only bad thing is it's not going to end before chickens leave.

Back to the chicken coops for repairs today. Then maybe I'll get the loader fixed. The cylinder pin is walking out on me. Only about halfway in. Noticed it after I was done bushhoging. Guess ground was too rough.

Morning all. Foggy and humid here. Temps in the upper 70s. Sun should burn off the fog, then its up to the upper 90s today. Ahhh, fall.

Bought 6 Guineas yesterday on the way home through Austin (Callahan's General Store). 3 Lavenders and 3 Pearl. Now we need to name them. They made it through the night in their new coop. Dog proof, so this batch should survive.

I got a few suggestions... Noisy, loud, obnoxious, chatterbox, No? Don't like those names, :confused3: okay, I tried
