Good morning!!!!

Good Morning! 70˚ raining, thunder, and under a tornado watch. Rain expected through tomorrow.

Sorry Kyle, Kosher dogs are not listed as an exception in the #1 carcinogen category. (source?) I wonder if school will still be serving Hot dogs for lunch?
Riptides - Does balance really work with cancer, (source?) I don't know, I did not review the 800 cancer studies too see if balance was a criteria, I'm just repeating their findings and balance is not in the summary.

I got the (source?) from my wife as she was doing her masters thesis - nothing could be stated without one.

Weedeated all day yesterday - not even half finished. I called the County and they are planning on mowing their road side of the fence this fall so I'm only weed eating 2' next to the steep front fence line. They can mow the other 4'-6' with their batwing at an angle.

Kev, do you make your own veggie sausage?

Don, did you eat pork or beef sausage when you were young?

one of the things I was always curious about red meat was the "bad" part. Certain cuts are leaner than others. Is it the grilling that makes them
especially bad? The nitrosamines that are produced during the charring of meat? Consider all those campfires 400 years ago, and all that burned meat.
Will CharBroil get the same rep as Phillip Morris?....

I wonder if now, at my age 65, whether anything I eat from now on, within reason, will affect me. My numbers are within range, mostly. A little overweight.
Get plenty of exercise. So if I have a steak or burgers a couple of times per week, does it matter? or is my head simply stuck in the sand?...
Frankly I think many of us do just fine eating things that would put others into an early grave. We are all different. Yet the AMA didn't come out and say red meat was fine for very healthy people did they. Like in Monopoly, do not pass Go.
But most of us will.

got the Gravely back from the shop with it's new tri-rib front tires and sure enough it spins on a dime. Will take a pic later. Lots of work to do in the meantime and if I'm smart I'll delegate. often not very smart...

Then I think, man, fire and food have been around for a long time. One would have thought by now, we would have been killed off with all the grilling and processing we have done in our history.

The killing off is a slow process usually after child bearing age that is why we are still around.
Most people were killed off in what we consider a young age 40-50-60 until drugs and medical procedures extended life. The older societies that had the least amount of meat lived the longest. The china study is one study that comes to mind. The early Eskimos had a low life expectancy.

Kev, my wife just printed out her graduation certificate in the FOK cooking class. She said she learned a lot and will be missing the class. Since I was the official taster it was fun for me also. The no tuna tuna sandwich assignment was really good.
More veggies, less meat, sweets and limited grains and only whole grains - a good healthy way to loose weight.

The rain continues, flooding West of us, TV shows pumpkins floating down the street near Cypress creek

My arteries said I ate both. That is an unusual question since the WHO study, of 800 studies, concluded ALL red meats. Are you trying to find a safe alternative for your children so they will at least get a delay/extension on disease in their lifetime or are you looking out for yourself?

47F and cloudy @ 14:00 ... with a high of 50F and a low of 34F tonight predicted.

Have to call rental place and get pricing on a tow-behind compressor.

Switched furnace back on a little bit ago ... need to check and see if I'm getting any condensation drips out of the flue. And see if I can get things tied up on that project.

Might head up to the shop later and see if I can get a little more straightening up and organizing done in preparation for painting parts.
