Good morning! 10 degrees Celsius here in Ireland, with rain and clouds forecast all day. Not perfect vintage tractor weather then!
Welcome, my maternal grandmother side from portadown ireland.

I had a 1974 Toyota Landcruiser too. An awesome offroad and in the snow vehicle. That straight 6 engine did not do the vehicle justice. I "borrowed" a VW Thing for a couple of months. It was fun in the snow. There was something unsafe about the heater I forget what it was?

Ted- I also believe a lot of your pain is due to healing and everything reconnecting. I had a hard time dealing with the long periods of inactivity during the rehab process. You'll know when your knee is fully functional. Hang in there.

Brogen is learning the "ropes." He still has "temper tantrum's" on occasion on the leash; luckily for me it is basically becoming a 151# dead weight. He was quite "testy" the first few days as we worked out "alpha" male; he still tests limits. He is learning the "perimeter." I/We still do not have his food worked out; nightly vanilla ice-cream is history. Once a St.B. expects some "scheduled" treat it becomes a permanent expectation. Our last two dogs "had to have" their (plain) ricecake desserts. He's not as "paw powerful;" breaking the paw routine takes time.

Some of the air cooled cars had gasoline heaters. IIRC, there was a problem with carbon monoxide...

67°F And .56 inches rain. Still coming down.

Drew, don’t hurry with your radio. I’ve no immediate plans to go live. My getting licensed was result of request from friends and neighbors on the CERT. of course they hope I go the fully qualified route but at this point they are attempting to get HAM qualifieds in support of emergency. They will be getting some small handhelds for mostly local use. By my count we have 5 qualified CERT in the neighborhood and the only 2 that are Ham licensed are my cottage tenants who will be moving to the next town once their house is built. Will still be in same CERT, just 6 miles away. I know my house is favored depending on the emergency.

Not much planned yet. Still waking up
Going to town this afternoon
Prayers for all

Be safe
Have a great day

Birthday party for 4yr old grand daughter and 1 year old grandson on Saturday, mostly just immediate family, one daughter is pretty good at pulled pork so she smoked a pork butt on the Traeger in the rain and wind and contributed that. Nice to have quiet house again, I went to bed early last night and slept well.

Yup, the Thing had a gasoline fired heater. Not one of their best designs.

Yes, it had the gasoline heater, with the plastic windows and soft top it got plenty of fresh air, I liked that heater after I rewired it so it would run with the vehicle off.
Of course going across Wyoming in the winter the frost built up pretty good on the doors.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil may be the best type of oil for people without heart disease, but anyone who has every been diagnosed with heart disease, had stents place, had a bypass, or is on a statin, should absolutely not use any kind of oil, butter, or margarine. All oils and fats impair the endothelial function. The endothelium is the inner lining of the arteries. Here is a good discussion on why the confusion with olive oil.

Olive Oil & Artery Function | NutritionFacts.org

As you can see from the link above, although "extra virgin olive oil retains a fraction of the anti-inflammatory phytonutrients found in the olive fruit, and so doesn't appear to induce the spike in inflammatory markers caused by regular olive oil, olive oil was found to have the same impairment to endothelial function as the rest of these high-fat meals.

FWIW, I had the CTscan and my calcium score totally surprised me...Zero I told my doc, now I'm really confused why I get some intermittent dull chest pains. They may be muscle related. My left arm muscle/tendons has some problems since taking antibiotics, and I believe maybe when I compensate using it, my chest muscles get stretched....or I could have antibiotic tendon trouble with my chest muscles... Who knows.
