So have you totally given up on your furnace?
Which one ?

You still have one right?
I have several ... three actually ... (not counting several commercial units and boilers)

And come Tuesday morning I may have another one ... for the polebarn ... :D

I would cuss if I had to deal with that cold. youz guyz are all excused, just don't type it here....

Seriously, even when I was younger and would go to Colorado to snow ski, after about 3 or 4 days, I was ready to get the heck out of there.

Can't handle it, says I.

Hey rs, glad you are getting your home warmer, tractor fixed, chainsaw sharpened, log splitter closer to finis, helper bringing wood....what else did I leave out. I didn't get to see the SNL special the other night, but like Roseanne Roseannadanna always said, "Well Jane, that just goes to show ya, if it ain't something, its something else." Truer words have never been spoken.

It's already down to 25F and that is the forecast low. I'm betting we get close to 20F by morning. Too cold for Florida.

3 degrees right now...high of 13 today...and it is FRIDAY!

Txdon, I am also very sorry your cat passed...I'm sure he had a happy, happy life...went peaceful and, when it's time, that's a good way to go.

The dog is a little puzzled this morning. I think he is still trying to work out where all the sheep have gone.
[ must confess "Sheepless" is not used in UK either - only made it up yesterday ;)]

I do appreciate though all your efforts to teach me "TBN English". I have been trying hard to learn this since joining tbn.
You may get an idea just how hard this is for me from this video by this delightful young lady.

Take a rest and have a look if you get a few minutes to spare between the snow clearing and feeding the fire. I think she's funny.

The one you tried to start in early October:
45F and sunny @ 09:45 ...

Went to fire up the furnace in the house yesterday and couldn't get it to stay lit ... seems like the flame sensor is relatively new - it sure looked it ... I cleaned it off anyways.

Also pulled out the little compressor and took a wire brush taped to a gun cleaning rod and cleaned the burners off and blew them and the heat exchanger out ... same deal: lights right up ... but the flame goes out after a few seconds ...

It's an old Rheem Imperial - built in '86 or '88 I think - so it's not surprising it's having some issues.

Looks like we'll be spending a little time today cleaning out the wood furnace and hauling wood down to the house ...
Isn't that the primary Cupcake warmer?

And then you posted about it 2 months later:
One other data point: the guy had to pull the gas tube going to the burners to replace the gas valve ...

Apparently one of the orifices for one of the burners was crudded up enough that he got out his Leatherman and was digging at it.

And apparently the Leatherman didn't work.

How much time do you reckon you've spent splitting and hauling wood to the house?

10degrees going up to 22 today, a little warmer than expected and thankfully heating up over the weekend into the fifties. If I were a daffodil, I'd be very confused.

Painters finished the ceilings yesterday, what a relief. Thirty years of accumulated water stains and who knows what else, including grease and soot on the kitchen ceiling over the range. Now shiny white and clean looking.
Ding, coffee is ready. If I'm going to get up this early, well, first cup of fresh brew is always welcome.

not an outside day at all today, but hopefully tomorrow my local helper and I can start getting sticks picked up, currently frozen to the ground. 40mph winds broke a few small pine limbs but otherwise this past storm did not deposit one flake of snow.
