Swapping over from Winter/ Snow Thrower to the Mower Deck 3461 I find it impossible to connect the "Traction Springs"? I've gone through multiple cycles of "power fold" and "deck height" change including "adjusting (loosening) the traction

springs" adjuster...... no luck.

I can get at best within 1/2" from the torque arm pin (using the special GH lever tool) but it isn't enough to get the outer of the 3 links, linked.

Anybody share some info?! Thanks so much! Hope someone has solved this and will share! TIA

Sure would appreciate some info on what I am missing?!

Would like to see a pict. of yours, I just can't picture your problem in my mind...

I haven't had a problem attaching mine...

I assume you already have the deck arms attached, but just in case... You should be able to lower the deck until the rear arms raise. Then roll the deck into place and line up the arms with the attachment points on the 725. Then raise the deck which will lower the arms into position on the 725 so you can pin in place.
Then the traction tool should fit into the slot and with some medium pressure you can pull the chains into position to slip onto the pins. If you can't, is there something else binding?

Thanks for getting back to me! Everything works very well and is easy to mount and dismount........... winter/summer. My problem is the last step........... the hooking of the "traction" lift straps (transfers the weight of the front mower to the main wheels) with the 3 link chain (left side & right side). The L & R side of the deck has a torque arm that takes the end link, one on either side of the mower deck. GH provides a special tool and it works except I'm lacking enough extension to force the 3 link chain onto the pin.

What do you think? GH got back to me immediately via phone and have not seen this.

HTH !

What do I think? I think I have the same mower/blower but I haven't taken the blower off this year yet, so I'm having a brain fart. lol

I don't have a tool like you are talking about, I put my weight on the arms to push them down, to load the spring while attaching the chain...

I'll look at it tomorrow...
