I recently picked up a left outside but otherwise in good condition mid-mount snowplow/pusher bar for my ATV.
After disassembling/derusting/priming/painting, I've got 2 plates with quite a bit of surface contact area that rotate to angle the plow.
Pivot portion looks almost identical to this except mine is a mid-mount/longer push tube and not a front mount as pictured:
My initial inclination is to use marine grease, but wondering if there is a better product that will function in low temps and may attract less dirt?
I am also considering installing a 6" diameter ~1/8" thick nylon or PTFE or UHMWPE sheet washer here or maybe a combination of plastic washer + lube
I know to stay away from lithium grease for this application; and while fluid film may be appropriate for the plow blade itself I don't see that as appropriate for between the 2 plates at the pivot.
Anyone have any thoughts or experience here?
