GT2542 pto will not shut off

I have a cub cadet gt 2542. When I start the tractor the blades start. PTO will not shut off. I have tried reverse shut off and still the pto is engaged. I unplugged the wires going to the clutch and still the same.

sounds like bearing is bad take off clutch and have bearings replaced.

I think you'll have a hard time finding bearings for your clutch and will have to buy a new one. The going rate for a new one is from $275-$300.

What is so special about those bearings. I have rebuilt at least six older gen electric clutches..I have a 2542 so it might give me a start on a fix should mine puke..

The problem with finding bearings is they are made special for Warner with metric outside diameter and inch inside diameter.

I have a lathe and mill. Can take care of that problem. Never ran into that in my short 66 yrs. Proprietary crapola...
