Hard IP addresses in banner links

Hi Muhammad,

I've noticed that the links to "Home", "Discussions", "Store" etc in the banner right under the TractorByNet.com logo are all links with hard IP addresses as opposed to www.tractorbynet.com. I find that when I get to the discussions section via this link, none of the forum summary info on number of new messages etc is present. If I get to the page via other links it all works fine.

Are these hard coded IP addresses intentional and are they really why I don't get the number of unread messages?

Oops, I thought I fixed those when I put the disaster message at the top, but I guess I didn't, or something. They were hard links from when we changed servers... will fix them up asap.

Hi Muhammad,

I see the links are fixed, but I'm stilling seeing the same bahavior. It's not a big deal, but it's curious to me that I get different behavior depending on what button I click. After I "log in", if I click on the "discussion" link in the banner I get the list of forums but I don't get any info about number of unread messages etc. If I instead get to the forums by clicking the "jump" button I get the info on number of unread messages.

I also noticed that if I search and get a list of classifiied ads (I just searched for eveything) and then click on the adds, I get a window with teh TBN frame but otherwise blank content. This is with Netscape 4.7. If I use IE it works. Seems to me like more MS interoperability issues. I'm sure MS hasn't left landmines for netscape to trip over.

Ok, I just fixed that... the compatibility issue is with Netscape, and will be fixed soon, as we will be replacing the ad system with completely new scripting.
