Has anyone tried to make an off set mower?

LBrown59, I made a ditch mower out of an 18 horse MTD. I removed the 44" deck and fabricated a subframe for the deck and the tractor and mounted the mower deck on the right side of the tractor. I used a belt drive with a couple of extra idlers to maintain belt tension. The deck operated through a 180 degree radius. It worked okay and we used it for several years to mow a steep bank along the driveway and road. The only drawback was that the tractor was not heavy enough and when mowing in the down position it would tend to pull the front of the tractor toward the road ditch. Sorry, no pictures as this was done in my pre-TBN days.

I am currently working on a boom type mower to install on the TPH of my 2210. It is only in the design stage and I am getting the materials together to get started. When I have something in the construction stage I will post pictures. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've been looking for junked 4' rc to convert to hydraulic drive and mount to my backhoe. I've got steep road banks that can't safely be cut with ridden machinery. Hard to find one with a good deck and bad gearbox.
