Hello from the East side of middle Tennessee

Long time diesel and industrial equipment mechanic, first time tractor owner. New resident to Tennessee and recently "retired". Spent the last 20 as a mechanic in the wastewater industry and the 20 prior as a mechanic at Kenworth and Freightliner dealerships. We bought 6+ acres, built my retirement shop to keep me busy and my wife will be raising Alpacas shortly. I picked up a running Long 510 with a Bush Hog FEL a coupe of weeks ago and bought a basket case Ford 1710 4 wheel drive with a Du-al 105 FEL last week. The Ford is complete, but the head has been removed. I'm hoping it was just a head gasket that was set aside after disassembly, Time will tell. I'm sure I will be reading much and asking for information from time to time. Thank you for having me.

Welcome HarleyMike from another long time truck engine/heavy equipment mechanic. Also a V-Twin rider but mine are just turned the other way. The area you are in is probably my favorite in the US. Good on you for getting that retirement shop too. This has been a pretty good source of info for me. Keep us posted on how the repair goes.

We are in the Crossville area. We have been coming here for about 5 years, bought the house and property 3 1/2 years ago, had to wait on my numbers to add up for retirement. Couldn't be any happier if I tried and beer was free.

I'm a Guzzista

Waiting on what I think will be my last new bike. I rode an HD for a long time but several years ago gave it to my son. I went to riding a Guzzi about ten years ago and as quirky as they are for some things, they do grow on you. The big thing is to overlook the whole dealer thing. Got some friends on BMWs and always wanted a K1600 but I was too cheap when the urge struck to get another bike. Riding a nonmainstream type of bike is fun just for the reactions and interactions with others.
Back when your tractor was new I really wanted one of those. Nice tractor and will serve you well when you get it done.
