HELP! 580C ONLY GOES IN REVERSE

Recently purchased a 1981 case 580c. It had no forward when I bought it. Tried cleaning the screen and changing the fluid, kind of seemed like it had been tried already. Goes into reverse without hesitation.

Check for wear in the linkage if shifter or pedal rocker. If hydraulic valves, check control pressures. Could be a worn valve. I'd be looking for a shop manual if you plan to do the work yourself. Typical user manuals will be worthless.
