I have a 2002 L3010 kubota with a LA481 loader. the control valve is bad, need a new one or sub. the control valve is Husco 9210. dealer wants 2 arms and a leg for his part, is there a aftermarket one I can use or a better price then $1035. any help thanks
Very rare for a valve to totally stop working so have you checked the following.
1) Does the curl / dump function work? If yes then curl the back back fully to hear what the engine does and also potentially hear the relief valve noise.
2) When trying to raise or lower does it sound like the oil is under pressure like it did when you curled the bucket fully? If yes then I would check that your QD's (quick disconnects) are connected fully. Shut tractor off and release all of the trapped pressure and then disconnect and reconnect these.
Things to check include fluid level, fluid condition (milky?), stuck open relief valve.
You can order a valve for about 1/3 that price from several places, but you'll likely need a little tweaking with fittings, and the mounting may be different.
yes, did not see any seals damaged, nothing but fluid came out. really don't know what else to look for. the inside of valve looks good, clean, no rust etc...
Do you get any change in noise when operating the lift function? Do you have the capabilities of installing a pressure gauge in the lift circuit?
My money is on one of the quick disconnects being bad. Over time the internal springs can fatigue causing them to act like check valves.
attached is a sectional view of the 9210. all seals are metal to metal so if spools are not severely scored or cast body isn't severely scored and the spool is shifting the casting would have to be broken to experience this type of failure.
