Hi,
Thanks for taking some time to read my post.. I could use some help with my Kubota 7500. I was running it two days ago and happen to notice the temperature gauge was almost pinned at the top!! Not all the way but almost. I had only been running it for about 20 mins when I noticed this. I returned the tractor to the hanger in the back where I store it, about 3 mins away, and by the time I got there, the needle was now just above half. I have never had any issues with this before but this has me worried since we are expecting two more snow storms, tonight and Wednesday into Thursday. I have several elderly couples in my neighborhood that I use my Kubota on to clear their driveways and am worried I won't be able to do it for these upcoming storms. I have been working every day since this happened ( 12 hour shifts) so I haven't had time to troubleshoot it but this is what I was thinking of doing. One other thing, my tractor has a Curtis cab on it and it is equipped with heat which I noticed this year has not been putting heat out very well in contrast to prior years when it was so hot, I had to take my coat off!! I did take the radiator cap off when I first got back but didn't have a flashlight to check the level. But I am suspecting a low level of antifreeze would explain the high temperature readings and the lack of heat through the cab heater.. if so, then the question would be, where is the leak if I am not seeing any antifreeze on the ground, what can be done to correct it both in the short term and in the long term? The first thing I thought I would do would be to check the oil to see if its foamy or shows any other evidence of contamination with antifreeze, suggesting a blown head gasket... if I don't see any sign like that, does anyone else have any suggestions? Are Kubotos equipped with an antifreeze overflow container marked where the level should be? If not, how much and what mixture of water to antifreeze should I use? Do I need to use any special type of antifreeze? Lastly, do these engines have a thermostat like a car does? If it does and its stuck that might also explain the temperature issue but only if the level of antifreeze is normal.. but I don't even know what a normal level for this tractor is... Sorry for all the questions but I am hoping to limp through these next two storms and then see about making a permanent repair but hoping its not a head gasket .. thanks for your time and any suggestions you might have...
