I used my tractor again today and it jerk's from time to time when shifting from foward to reverse . I have not got the hang of the ehss on my tc55 .Is there any idea's when to shift and at what rpm and range that is better or worse. Some time's it shift is smooth and other's a not so smooth?

Does it have a Turtle, Rabbit switch? Are you letting off the throttle when you shift?

It doesnt have the turtle and rabit i had that on my tc40 hydro.I guess it must be me learning how to shuttle .I tried it again yesterday and it only jerked when shuttling a couple of time's.I guess the owner's manual doent explain it to me as good as it should.I just dont want to have undo wear on component's while in learning mode.I dont think it's out of adjustment as of yet it only has 10 hr's on it.

After running it again and keeping my foot off the inching pedal the tractor showed no sign's of jerking.I had to make my self not to use the clutch. It is as specified no clutching. It is easy to use as the hydro was.I was used to the clutch transmision's then the hydro .Old habit's are hard to break. It just took a while to realize not to use the inching pedal at all unless loading the bucket.

Once warmed up a bit, mine shifts fine by backing off the foot throttle a bit, then back on it once it reverses. Once you get used to forgetting you have a clutch pedal (except for pto) you'll enjoy the ehss. DocBob on this forum and I discussed last fall whether you could just go from standstill in neutral into forward or reverse without clutching. My manual (2120) and his TN did not say anything about those situations. I still use the clutch to start from standstill, just habit I guess. I don't have an inching pedal.
Most times I leave the e switch in rabbit, as the turtle reversing is slow, and I can't figure it's any easier on the tranny, since the actual shift does not seem any smoother, just takes longer to initiate.

Fullpull.....Don't feel bad....my TC55DA has 330 hrs on it and I'm still learning. Mine does exactly what you described but i know it's me and not the tractor. I just have a hard time not using the inching pedal....uuuuggggg!!! I love the EHSS though and have discovered it's just RPM and shifting to get a smooth transition....

Don't use the inching pedal and the shuttel shift at the same time. That doesn't mean that the inching pedal has to be fully depressed. You probably just press a little on the inching pedal and use the shuttle shift. That is where your jerking is coming form. I have my TC55Da now 3 years and I still get a "jerk" once in a while.

Just pay attention to your left foot while using the shuttle... you may wanna put that foot in a different position or something and report back. I am still catching myself once in a while working the shuttle shift and the inching pedal the same time after 3 years! LOL
