Currently, I'm in the process of trying to read this entire forum.

I am back to page 23 of Attachments. I haven't found this directly addressed.

How is a plow bottom measured?

In other words, If a plow has 16 inch bottoms, WHAT is 16 inches referring to?

Allen,
The width of the main beam spread will equal the width of cut. You can take a quick measurement between any two main beams, center to center, and that will tell you the plow size. There is a main beam for each bottom.

I thought it had to something to do with the actual size of the bottom or the width of the cutting edge of the plow

I know that in my adventures on the internet, I have found that many modern plows have an adjustable width but the bottoms are the same size.
