Recently registered, been stalking y’all for years.

I have three tractors, a 48 Ford 8N that pulls an old (I think it is a Bantam) Jeep wagon, plug aerator, gravel rake and a back blade, an early 70s Kubota L260 diesel that almost always has a King Kutter 6 foot 3 blade finish mower mounted to the 3 point, a Kubota GR2110 diesel riding mower and a 48 Adams 412H motor grader.

I signed up to try and search the forums for help adjusting the cables on the GR2110. It has that stupid glide steer system and the cables appear to be a consumable. Trouble is there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of technical help available, only many people complaining about the broken cables and the expensive repairs from the stealerships.

I’m a lifelong mechanic and I do all my own maintenance and repairs, so I won’t regale everyone with tales of woe at the stealership repair shop. Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction with regard to setting up and adjusting the cables after replacement.

Happy Saturday.

You must have gotten the memo about posting photos!!!! Love them :ROFLMAO::p:love:

Just to let you know... you will not get much "traffic" looking at your post in the new member section. Make sure you post this in the construction section - with a good title about the model and needing help with cables!!! (or something that will catch viewer's eyes!!!)

Very nice grader!!!

Welcome to TBN! Your collection is varied, and pretty cool, but I'm especially intrigued by the grader! Is all the blade adjustment mechanical? What an impressive machine, that must demand an engaged operator for sure!

Yes, all functions are gear driven. A shaft comes up into the cab from the drop box and runs a horizontal shaft with a set of levers that engage each shaft that runs out to the various gearboxes on the machine. When a given function reaches its limit the gearbox lever kicks back, known back in the ”knuckle buster”.

Turning the machine is nearly impossible by turning the steering wheel. But lean the steer wheels and it will turn very easily.

I picked it up about 19 years ago for $3,000 to grade the 1.5 mile private road we live on. Saves the community tens of thousands in costs from hiring a contractor to come out and grade the road. I have a CDL and set up an account at the construction rental shop in the city and rent a dump truck, then spend a couple days running gravel from a nearby quarry, again saving considerable costs for road maintenance.

Very nice grader!!!

Thanks for the props.

I did start a thread in the Kubota lawn and garden tractor section. No replies yet, but I think I am figuring out the glide steer setup.

I also have cars.

A couple of the 14 early Datsun Z cars I own.

Double Datsuns by Racer, on Flickr

The red one is a 71, has been a race car since 1979, I bought it in 1989. Won the regional championship in 1997.

The brown one is my second, bought in 1992 for Mrs. Racer 1.0. Kept it in the divorce.

Still have both cars, and 12 others, mostly parts cars.

My old boss had a 1969 240Z - fast little bugger... Got another friend that collects 240Z, I say collect since he doesn't work on them much!!! Lost count at 7...

Pretty easy on which Arlington, there's only 21 states with the name... Gave way too many clues in your Flicker account!!!
