I have some fence work to do on the street side of the property and along one side of the driveway from the gate to the house. Couple hundred feet total. I'm thinking of using the 5'x16' 4 ga mats of galvie hog wire framed in wood. Anyone try this before? I think this should trim out pretty well and be a heck of a lot easier than doing it all out of wood pickets. Less maintenance as well.

I saw this done to make the rail sections around a second story deck, it looked really nice. Gives good visibility through the fence and it's strurdy enough to stop dogs, kids, and other pests from getting through.

We live on a country road which I affectionately call the Indianapolis Motor Speedway based upon the way people insist on driving it.So, I want to keep the little grandson and the dogs in! Keep the other dogs and some other critters out. Preserve sight lines. Look decent to the point of not being an eyesore. Get the boss to go along with it:) I'm doing the higher garden fencing interior to the property.

Those panels can be pretty pricey. But it should look pretty good if you are using wood to frame it out

They are pricey, but they sure look better than any roll fencing. I used the roll "no climb" wire around my place and wished more than once I had sprung for the welded panels. If you buy them by the pallet they are quite a bit cheaper at our COOP than individual pricing.

I say go for it, and I'd like to see some pic's.

Probably easier to install vs rolled fencing too, if you do get damage should also be less to replace. I agree, the wood trim idea will dress it up immensely.

I like the panels for cattle as well. For my barn yard i run the full size panels with good green treated 2x6 on the top. It keeps them from bending the top over. When you get your posts set right, it looks really good. I would say square posts will work better, alot more face surface area to nail your panel up.

Depending on how much you got to do, i would buy one of the propane powered fence staple nailers. Your hands will thank you.

The botanical garden used these for their fencing, they were 2 sections high and trimmed in treated wood where they met the poles (4x6). it looks very sturdy and very professional looking. I my go that route when I need to replace my deer fence.

I have used the welded panels (framed in wood) on our covered porch to keep the dogs from going throught the screen, for the fence around the gardens and on the deck for the railings.

They look great and work great.
last week-end, TSC had the 16 x 5 panels on sale for $16.99.
