So I needed to add onto my pasture fence with a 1500' section and I didn't want to do it by hand. My original plan was to buy one from TSC for $450. But when it was time to do it, the stretch was no longer available. Looking online I could only find them for about $1000 when shipping was factored in. At that point I decided I would just make something. I did it a little different than others I have seen online. For instance, I started with a "Carry-All" from TSC for $170 then using some left over angle iron and other metal I bought from HD I built this. There are a few design flaws - for instance welding the tube for the wire roll was not a good idea since I had not good way to load a new roll. Also I would like to mount the stretecher part to carry-all. Right now I use a chain to hold it, but it would be much more convinent if it was solidly affixed.

I seen a carry-all that has it's pole for the rolled fence as a rotating fork.

So, with the roll laying on the ground, back up the tractor, let the pole enter the center hole in the roll. Next, with an electric winch, pull the rolled fence to stand up. The base should rotate up. Now, lock the base in place with a latching pin.

Another way is with a basic 3PT boom. Have a pole on a circular disc platform, shove it into the center hole on the roll. Next with the boom, have a swivel that latches to the top of that pole thru the fence. Now you can drive it any place and it will spin on the boom to the top of the pole to unwind the fence as you go. Lower the 3PT to the ground to stop the roll from spinning. This was how it was done until the 3PT fence stretcher was invented.
