IT started from a Ebay Scarifier shank 16" long and 3/4" thick. Extra heavy duty shank with hardened tooth. After gathering some measurements I started welding it togther. All of the gussets and mounting plate is 1/2" thick. Notice along the tooth face I welded on a 3/8" thick x 1" x 15" long sharpened flat bar to cut thru roots easily. Overall finished length is 24". The lower gussets will act like a plow if I go that deep. Painted 1620 Chevy orange for a very close match. Have not mounted it yet, too **** cold !

A Lot of 6010 rod went into this bad boy

I like it.

Looks ready for action...

I bought one for my BX that was made with wide reinforcements... I'm sure it's bullet proof.

I like your design better.

Looks ready for war. How much does that suckah weigh? Nice welds, BTW. A 6010 bead has a look all it's own and it looks like you've spent a lot of time running it. How will you hitch this up? Shear bolt protected?

My guess is that he is going to remove the BH bucket and use ripper in its place. Only thing I see wrong is I dont see any collars on the ripper bolts holes. If you expect to use your pins from BH, then you need collars to hold pins in place.

Very very nice. Radioman makes a good point about the collars though. Collars with lynch or bolt pin holes will allow you to secure the hitch pins so that they do not rotate or slide. This will give much smoother wear on the hitch pins and and their holes with less chance of grit and abrasion. You could use the collars on your bh bucket as models.

To answer the questions - There is no shear pin involved. I will remove the 12" kubota bucket and install this tooth. It weighs @ 40lbs +/- 5 lbs. On the pins, I am going to make my own locking pins with collars like the BX25 bucket has on it now. The bx pins will be too short since this tooth wall is thicker. I will drill and tap two hole at 3/8" to lock the collars down, similar to what the BX has.

Here are the pins, long for trimming.
