Honda Motor Shaft Question

/ Honda Motor Shaft Question #11
Hi all,
I am in the process of replacing an ACME engine on a BCS 735.
Looking at the Honda GX390 specs online, I notice the E type shaft option:

When compared to ACME, the taper is the same 1:5. Now the dimensions L and M are unknown/custom? With a machined flange adapter for the italian 6-bolt pattern, could it fit directly without the conversion clutch?
Have good time.

Hi Valere,

Unfortunately, no. You'd have the clutch issue licked, but would still have the adaptor issue. The BCS needs a 6 bolt pattern on the engine and the specs you show is still a 4 bolt pattern. If you found that they offer a 6 bolt European style attachment on the engine, you'd be in business. But, why wouldn't you just buy the 9.5 hp Kohler Command Pro Joel offers? I imagine it'd be a more affordable option over custom ordering a Honda.
