Horse-drawn combine harvesters. Teams of horses being used to haul combine harvesters across fields during harvesting in the USA in the 1930s. Combine harvesters combine the functions of reaping, threshing, and winnowing of grain crops. Many combine harvesters were designed to be drawn by horses, even after the advent of self-powered engine models. Photographed by Harris and Ewing in 1936.

Looks like 20 horses per rig. 100 horses in the picture. A significant amount of grain would be needed to fuel the teams to work that hard each day.
